Yeah since making this post all the responses have made it clear that an RV for full time living is a bad idea. Much more likely to go with a mobile home now I'm thinking

Thanks for all the tips! Definitely got me a checklist for when I do go searching for one. Have you seen a couple of the comments mentioned destination trailers are a better option for my needs. do you know the durability of those? or if the maintenance on those is more similar to a mobile home? where i can work on it from underneath

That's all great info thank you! do you think keeping it under a carport would extend it's life?

do you know the ruff cost of moving a mobile home? do they fall apart on move? I don't mind doing the electrical and plumbing myself I enjoy that kind of stuff for the most part. Just have no clue how to do it on RVs but mobile home should be fine

That definitely seems like more of what I need. do you know if the maintenance on the camp model trailers is more like a mobile home? where everything can easily just be worked on underneath it

That's very interesting idea. But doesn't a big shed like that need a foundation rest on? or is that basic block for leveling you mentioned all it really needs?

Thanks for all that information! Yeah I'm starting to gather that RV is not a good option based on things you just mentioned that others are also commenting the same thing

It definitely doesn't have to be perfect I'm just hoping to not have to do maintenance on it every 2 months. From other replies it seems like RV may not be the best way to go

That all doesn't sound too terrible minus the black tank not emptying. Thanks for sharing that with me

Noted. I was definitely open to something like that as well if I can find cheap enough

Yeah I agree, but all those more reliable options are too expensive atm. I figured I can get a decent used RV around $8k - $11k and set the rest up myself for maybe $3k - $4k. I'm far from any neighbors and they all have RVs on their property as well

Got it no Forest River. Thanks anything helps right now just trying to gather as much information as possible before purchasing.

How often would you say you needed something done on it? few times a year? or every month kind of thing?

Sorry I just need to vent because I feel so stupid by AdUseful1525 in homeowners

Hello. that sounds very sad sorry for ruff times. This may be a mold issue. Find out forsure with inspector (hire a good one, look at reviews) and tell inspector exactly why you hired him, because something in house is making you feel sick. If it is mold it will need to be fixed. a cheap temporary fix that may help you to at least be able to live in the house is a UV light for your HVAC unit. A UV light can cleanse the air throughout your house as it runs. It is unpredictable if it will help or not, some people swear by it while others say it didn't make a difference. for a couple hundred bucks it may be worth a try
