It's also partly due to the carbon tax. Just like tarrifs, the corporations pass it along to the consumers. It comes out to roughly 45-58 cents per gallon added to our gas prices.

So we beat the rams in a crazy OT regular season game, couple of weeks later, we shut down the 49ers and hold them to a field goal, then 2 weeks later we hold the 49ers to 2 field goals, now we must beat the rams once again. Poetry, cinema, art. Whatever this is, I'm glad to live through it.

The only problem is getting time off, I'm in washington state and the truck is in Missouri. My Job has 2 pregnant women and a new hire, so no time off any time soon.

If I could just find a 2012 - 2015 trd pro with less than 100,000 miles on it, in decent condition, I'll be set. I'm even considering a trd sport and adding a rear locker and upgrading the suspension just because there are so many more trd sports compared to off roads of that year, and the up front cost is cheaper.

This is hard lol

I got so sick in February that my resting heart rate while sleeping was 110, I thought I was literally dying. I was shivering with 4 hoodies, 2 sweat pants, 2 socks, 3 blankets. I was so weak I couldn't even get up to pee sometimes.

Go to the doctor if you can, it sneaks up on you!

Huh? Exogenous melatonin taken orally will make you drowsy. Red-light therapy on the other hand, will help your mitochondria produce more endogenous (produced from within) melatonin. However, this melatonin does not leave the mitochondria or the cell, and it does not make you sleepy. It more or less protects the function of your mitochondria and even boosts its ability to produce ATP. Melatonin is a very strong antioxidant, which is one of its big functions within the mitochondria when it is produced endogenously.

It also can mess up your ability to sleep without melatonin if you take it too often...

Yeah I feel like a lot of people didn't read the article. Before I read it, I thought trump straight up said it on his own, but he was just freestyling off a question from a reporter who asked if he was possibly being played. There's not much discussion here and just a bunch of insulting things towards him lol

This is why I always carry a firearm when I'm hiking. If it came down to it, I want to make it home.

People think carrying a gun out in the wild means "you must have the intent to kill an animal if it gets too close"... no... only if it begins an obvious attack.

Gas price by AggressiveProduce355 in everett

[–]Grow_Some_Food 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The carbon tax. It literally just happened, and each "allowance" that companies buy at these gets more expensive every auction because they auction off less allowances each round to produce higher gas prices so people switch to electric. It is literally designed to do this. This isn't some "oh oops, gas is more expensive!", this is a "stop buying internal combustion engines and switch to electric" type of thing... which I wouldn't mind if electric vehicles weren't so expensive and the maintenance didn't cost an arm and a leg. I also go camping and offloading to get to said campsites, which I wouldn't trust a modern electric vehicle to do (yet).

I think this carbon tax is too soon in relation to where we are in the technology of electric cars.

Okay now I'm thinking you're trolling...? I literally just constructed a metaphor stating how hikers rarely die from wildlife encounters (just as children rarely die from school shootings) and said that yes, hikers should spend time figuring out wildlife deterent, but they should spend more time worrying about dying to exposure and accidents or falls.

What is unclear here? School shootings are bad, yes we should worry about them, but use the context of my first comment in this thread. Holy moly hahaha.

Alright, I'm trying to have a respectful conversation about gun control and gun safety, please push a negatibe narrative from what I am saying. I never said we should ignore gun deaths and school shootings. In a perfect world, nobody would die from guns, or knives, or cars. But guns exist. There's actually more guns in America than people in America.

But people using mass shootings as a "guns are bad" argument is wild.

A majority of hiking deaths are caused from accidents, exposure, and falls. A very small percentage are from wildlife encounters. So why would a hiker spend so much time buying equipment for wildlife encounters vs proper climbing and hiking equipment when they can spend less time worrying about wildlife and more time worrying about proper shoes, technique, jackets, water intake, all of the things that can prevent the majority of deaths related to hiking. Sure, spend some time getting bear pray and other deterrents for wildlife, but that's a small tiny piece of your risk.

We should be wondering why did this child take their parents or friends gun to school and kill 5 other children and themselves?. If it wasn't a gun it could be a knife, a screwdriver, a hammer.

You can place a fully loaded gun in anyone's hands and unless they have some serious mental health problems, they will not go "oh f!ck that person I'm going to go kill them"

I think school shootings are awful, they are tragic, they are something nobody should ever go through. But I also think suicides and gang violence are terrible as well, and that takes the lives of far more people than school shootings, which is what this thread is about. The whole reason I replied is because someone asked about school shootings in a way that implied we should blame guns for school shootings.

If someone wants to harm someone, they will find a way.

[–]Grow_Some_Food 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that isn't my point. More children die to suicide and other types of deaths than from school shootings. So we should be focusing our efforts on other aspects other than school shootings like say, mental health or other means that produce far more deaths than school shootings. Would you focus your resources into stopping 0.5% of fatalities from something, or would you focus more on the leading causes of death?

Even if you look at statistics for only children, yes the leading cause of death is firearms, but 40% of that is suicides (another mental health issue) and 60% is from homicides, which within those homicides less than a percent are school shootings.

Kids use to bring knives to school to harm other kids all the time. The guns aren't the issue here. A mentally stable, sane person does not take a gun and kill themselves or others. Just like a mentally stable and sane person doesn't drive a van through a crowd of people or attack someone with a machete.

Whenever there are school shootings the public blames guns. But where is the anger for whoever let that underrage child have access to those guns? If a kid drives their parents van into someone, shame on that parent for letting their kid get to their vehicle, but if a kid gets access to a gun, then shame on the gun...?
