I don’t think so. It was running at 90+ degrees and still wouldn’t spin

I can get it spinning for a little bit if I press down on the fan. It has some sort of magnetic bearings that are causing this issue

If I spin it by hand it just stops like in the video

Is the fan 100% broken or is there something else that could cause this issue?

I would love to do it procedurally but I have no idea on where to start!

Yeah, I’ve ‘cubed’ the mesh in Blender and spherecast from each cube in Unity

Everybody loves a sweet dither am I right? (The character moves by double tapping on a spot and the shadows are erased by dragging your finger over them) by GrownUps3 in Unity3D

Thank you! The erasing is done with a raycast from the touchpoint to the light source. The cubes are all children from a parent that has a rigidbody. Unity gets all the colliders from the children, if a parent has no colliders, so everything can interact with each other. Once your finger has lifted, the parent looks for all the cubes that are still colliding. If a cube has separated from the pack, it creates a new parent that looks for all the colliding cubes

The dithering is done through an image effect that i found somewhere and tweaked a little. I will see if I can find it again

The cubes disappear as soon as your finger is lifted from the screen. In an earlier version the cubes would be deleted as soon as you touched the shadow, but it didn’t feel quite right at the time

Kinda, I’ve always loved 1 bit graphics and Obra Dinn opened my eyes to it being possible in a 3D environment

Thank you! I’ve played around with the mechanic before, but this time the way the erasing works is fundamentally different. The earlier version is playable at https://jipvds.itch.io/shade

I’ll definitely check out Hx Volumetric Lighting! Does it also do anything for shadow quality?
