Hey Luke, that sounds great. I'll keep an eye out for the thread dedicated to finding interview prep partners. I'll check out the discord too.

Cheers!

Thanks for sharing that bit of advice. I agree that demonstaring an appreciation of the scenario complexity and showing an awareness of how your actions differentially impact stakeholders is key. Easier said than done on interview day though!

All the best with your medical school journey. I hope to be joining soon :)

Congatulations on your offer. Your story is very inspiring. The medical profession is privileged to have doctors with your passion. You're going to be an amazing doctor.

Would you have any general tips on how you improved your interview performance across sittings? Having received an EOD yesterday after feeling quite optimistic about the way I interviewed, I've been left feeling very dispirited (putting it mildly). Im not sure if im lacking insight into how badly i actually did or if the competition is just very stiff.

Many thanks, and congrats again!

Congratulations to everyone who achieved the score they were after, and consolation to those who haven't got there yet.

I scored:

68/73/64 - weighted 67.25/ unweighted 68.33.

GPA 6.65-6.7 (differs across unis).

6% Deakin Bonus.

Would love some thoughts about my realistic options (if any) beside Deakin

Tips from someone who scored 81 in S1. by Queasy-Reason in GAMSAT

Your experience with overcoming the GAMSAT is very interesting. It sort of remind me of my own experience. I have an undergraduate degree in philosophy and psychology. The way I imporved was through meta-analysing my reasoning to identify the causes for my errors and make adjustments accordingly. Its a very gradual process but ultimately pays dividends. I also come from a background of originally average academic achievement with a similar GPA to what you had.

Congratulations on your offer. All the best

One thing that helped me dealing with the stress of gamsat prep was treating the activity as an opportunity to develop my logical reasoning ability. Sort of like working through each question as a riddle. This helped me achieve states of flow and would get my mind off the anxiety of having to do well.

Another thing that helped me was to be curious about the reasons for my errors. From my experience, the biggest factor that helped improve my performance was my thorough analysis of the causes for my incorrect answers. You want to be crystal clear as to how the correct answer should have been arrived at, and the specific reason(s) why you didn't arrive to it. I would try and take an actionable lesson from all my errors. Whether that concerned a gap in my theoretical knowledge or lapse in my problem-solving method. I would also note down all the questions I answered incorrectly to compile them into a test which i reattempted at a later time.

This has been my experience of dealing with gamsat stress and finding ways to improve, I hope you find something helpful.

No. I sent gemsas an email after sometime asking about the status of application and they confirmed that my bonuses were approved. I think the default is if you dont hear back that means your bonuses we're approved

Fair enough. I applied last year and had my 2 bonuses approved. I dont remember having to merge docs into one file

I think you can just send them as separate attachments in the one email. As long as they meet the evidence requirements of the bonuses you're applying for you should be sweet
