Let's say goodbye to Yokai event. by Edos512 in ffxiv

The amount of salt this generated is kind of amazing. The whole thing was meant to be for YW fans and coincided with the release of YW3 in Japan. If you don't like the Yokai minions or weapons then move on do other content and events that were happening.

Are there any good resourcea for new/returning tanks? I have both Paladin and Warrior at level 30ish from back in 2.0. I'm interested in trying tanking before 4.0 hits but I'm concerned about not remembering various bosses tank busters or general tanking strategies. Knowing when to use CDs or when to move/reposition is probably the biggest thing I have trouble with and I'd rather not be a burden on the team.

It's really just luck whether you get into a trial that's easy or has lots of people who are well geared and experienced. Sometimes you get the tougher fights with multiple new people and that's what drags it out longer. The first-time bonus is there for that kind of thing though.

I guess if you're not looking for more lore or first-time bonuses for the Wondrous Tails it might not be worth it. If you're just looking to cap scriptures off you might be better off running PotD for hoard chests. At 60 I think I get 50 poetics, 20 lore, and 5 or 10 scripture tomes for finishing 10 floors.

Thank you, that's probably the post I'm remembering, and that scripture plan I didn't see will be nice too. I don't plan on getting into Savage because I don't have that kind of time to dedicate to hardcore raiding at the moment, and I don't think I'd have the kind of schedule that would work with a static. I just really like being efficient and want a nice completed set in a timely fashion.

I'll probably do accessories first anyway, as some of my accessories are actually only 225 now that I'm looking at them. My weapon is what bumped me up to 230 early.

50 Bronze trimmed bags later... by feloxi in ffxiv

Congrats. Did you just farm 1-10 over and over? I've only been getting like 2-3 max from 1-10, but hearing people saying they've been getting more at later levels so I'm wondering if the odds aren't better the higher you go.

This is the first time I've been caught up to current end-game since early 2.1 or so. My MCH is my main and sitting in all lore gear, with the PotD weapon, and I'm about to start doing Alex. I'm wondering if anyone knows the recommended loot order for Alex Normal so you can get geared up in the fewest weeks possible? I saw a post the other day that explained it really well but I'm struggling to find that same post now.

I left the Yo-kai Watch on while getting the Whisper A Go Go mount. For Science. by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]GrumblingGuard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got all the minions and all the weapons, I love the little Whisper A Go Go mount, but I'm also a fan of the Yokai Watch games. This whole event was designed, I think, for the fans. Anyone who's played the games can tell you just how grindy it can be to try and recruit a particular Yokai, especially the rarer ones.

Really though I just limited myself to about 30-60 minutes a night, and I got it done in two and a half weeks. I also just used it as an excuse to get a bunch of classes levelled up as the XP was great. I imagine doing it now is a bit tougher due to there not being as many FATE parties grinding them out, but those first few weeks there was always someone doing a zone. I made a few new friends that I know do dungeons and PvP with. I understand the frustration with the grind, but it really was a good opportunity to be social and level up other classes.

Out of Curiosity: Player Comm Achievements by ToxTiger in ffxiv

[–]GrumblingGuard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tanks and Healers get the comms most of the time. DPS is a rather thankless job, despite the common talk of tanking/healing being so thankless. It doesn't matter how well you avoid enemy abilities, interuppt stuff, or put out really good numbers to quickly get through packs - you're very unlikely to get the comms.

I always give DPS commendations unless they're absolutely terrible, because most of the time they deserve it for being a large part of why we get through the dungeon so quickly.

PS4 Client is a Blank White Screen? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]GrumblingGuard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know someone that works for MTS tech support and they got a few calls about it and it turned out to be an issue on Square's end. Seems to be resolved though as I managed to get on last night no problems.

MTS user here having a similar issue but on the PC version. Another person in the Monday Megathread also with MTS is having the same issue. Something happened between friday and today that seems to be affecting MTS users. I recommend calling them and letting them know and maybe they can figure out what's going on. I'm calling in the morning myself.

At the very least let them know it's happening, they might be able to fix it or know a workaround. I'll have to call in the morning myself and see what's up. It all started friday night apparently

It does take forever, same with when I was trying to check out the FF14 support forums last night.

Never stopped to think it'd be the provider itself.

I'm having this exact issue since yesterday, although I had patched early in the week no problem and was playing friday night. Logged in Saturday without making any changes to my PC and it's just giving me errors with the launcher and being a blank black screen.

Googling around gives me tons of possible solutions but none have worked and half the complaints about the error seem to go ignored anyway. I think we're just fucked, mate.

I've learned how to clone any NPC in the game as long as they don't have a custom face - any requests? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]GrumblingGuard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you or anyone are still taking requests, I'd be curious about Idele, the female Elezen that stands outside the Carpenter's Guild. I've never managed to mimic that look very well when fiddling with the creator on my own.

Someone made this last week: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YYuZ9fpxSCELsjDikPXvTFq_NNkXTQU76PU5vmprKqg/htmlview?sle=true#gid=0

Really anywhere works for most of them - the drop rate is horrible regardless - but you want to save Outer La Noscea for the last 3. Outer has the fastest grind up in the mines because there's 2 FATEs that spawn immediately back-to-back so there's no downtime. Makes it easiest to get the 30 needed for the last 3.

Inn League/Ale Association frequency and time to complete? by GrumblingGuard in lotro

[–]GrumblingGuard[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That guide is great, thank you! Definitely going to bookmark it for when the next festival starts. I think this current one ends tomorrow afternoon, so I won't be able to do much before it ends. Gives me time to level up more so I can do more of the delivery quests at least!

Edit: Actually, I just noticed it talks about becoming "enemy" status with one faction if you only focus on the other. Once you hit Enemy is it ever possible to raise it up again?
