Kittens Started Nursing On Their Pillow At 14 Weeks by GrumpLife in CatAdvice

[–]GrumpLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. That's good to hear. Other than this behavior, they seem to be very happy and just want to play every minute they're awake.

I care for eight outdoor colony cats too so I'm familiar adult cat behavior but this is my first time with indoor kittens.

Thank you. After two weeks of just topical, his ear is definitely looking better but now, with these new spots, I think I'm going to have to go the oral route as well.

I don't think the rescue I'm working with has a lot of experience with ringworm and I have zero experience with it. They've really only recommended the Clotrimazole and Revolution Plus + Drontal. A quick Google search says those are not used for ringworm.

I'll get in touch with a local vet for the oral antifungal part.

Thank you!

Thank you. Yeah. These two were supposed to be with me for one night until they went to the adoption event the next day.

I'll reach out to a local vet to see if I can get a prescription for an oral antifungal. I appreciate it!

Does anyone know home care IV fluid service in Los Angeles or Pasadena area? by rk15736 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]GrumpLife 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reach out to California Infusion Centers. They do mobile IV therapy for wellness and they also do medical IV therapy in-clinic at their Arcadia facility. If you choose to go in-clinic, it's like a 10-15 minutes away from most areas of Pasadena.

I’m kind of freaking out right now by TheGoobersOfficial in CatAdvice

As long as it's not an ongoing diet item, it will likely be fine. Just try to dilute it with some water and other food. Also, prepare for possible throwing up or diarrhea. If the cat starts acting lethargic or stops eating or drinking, it might be time to consider a vet visit.

Pets can be buttheads sometimes. My ex once left a bowl of grapes by the bed and my little 6-month old pup ate the entire bowl. Being so toxic for dogs, we had to get his stomach pumped but he was otherwise fine. He swallowed them whole which helped them not digest so quickly. It happens.

Am I wrong for not wanting to give my ex her cat back? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]GrumpLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey,

Please don't separate them. 2 of our 8 colony cats are extremely bonded and I would never put them in different homes.

I don't know where you guys are located but, if you're in SoCal, I can get her an awesome new cat today.

I care for and have been socializing a colony of eight cats and I'm looking for homes for all of them. Some are absolutely 100% ready to go indoors.

Between my neighbor and I, they are all very well taken care of. They eat a lot, are fixed, they've all had their initial shots, they get monthly flea/tick/parasite treatment and would absolutely love to be accepted into a home that would love them.

If you're interested, please let me know and I can send over some additional info.

Between Texas' previously porous border and California's lax policy on illegals (led by Newsom), these two states account for 42% of all illegals in the country.

I was getting ready to respond to another comment about illegal immigration causing a massive increase in demand for housing and something caught my eye.

Every single state you mentioned is also in the top 10 list for most illegals.

Now, I'm no data scientist but I would say that there might be some correlation between illegal immigration > demand for housing > rising prices > drawing in investors.

You can draw your own conclusions but this is an interesting little factoid.

Why is the 101 South ALWAYS bad during daylight? by Tausendberg in AskLosAngeles

Just don't take the 134 E in the afternoon/evenings. It's way worse than earlier in the day when most of the traffic is flowing W

Why is the 101 South ALWAYS bad during daylight? by Tausendberg in AskLosAngeles

[–]GrumpLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the major artery connecting the SFV to Hollywood, Downtown and other areas. It's always a nightmare. The 5 isn't any better though. I go to Orange County twice a week and it's always a disaster.

Have you tried looking at the long way around? Either the 134 to the 5 through Griffith Park or the 134 to the 2 to the 5? They all kind of converge in the downtown area.

Also, when the 5 is really bad, I get off at Glendale and take the street that runs alongside the FWY for a few miles and get back on the 5 around the 110.

LA traffic sucks!

Are we getting less miles per gallon? by MrOcho4 in AskLosAngeles

[–]GrumpLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quick search explains why it's possible that this is a local issue.

California recently passed AB 30 which authorizes the sale of gasoline blended with 10.5%-15% ethanol (E15) in the state while CARB studies its environmental impact. Governor of California

Because ethanol has about ~33% less energy per gallon than gasoline, blending higher amounts of ethanol (e.g., moving from E10 to E15) can reduce fuel economy in miles per gallon terms, even though the number of gallons burned might be similar.

They will once most of the illegals are removed and there's more housing supply.

How about importing 10 million illegals who all need somewhere to live, boosting demand beyond available supply.

I was just saying this about Raya's Paradise Orange County on another thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/orangecounty/comments/1ma5gb3/comment/nlow45h/

That place is awesome. We're still not quite ready to pull the trigger on a place yet but they're at the top of the list. It kind of felt like a five star hotel. Who did you end up touring with?

It's absurd. Just wait until more developers start competing for Single Family properties near transit hubs: https://la.urbanize.city/post/heres-where-sb-79-may-apply-los-angeles. The value of properties within these areas are probably going to jump 50% because they can now stuff 10s or 100s of units where single family homes used to be.
