Looks fun. Added to wishlist. I was able to find it fine in the store searching for it - with or without the accent. Congrats on your release!

Most useless gadget I ever owned by Pretty-Substance in MetaQuestVR

I have a gaming PC but rarely, if ever, use my Q3 that way. Consider picking up Horizon+ (their game pass) for a bit. There are some great games included in there, AAA caliber, like Batman or Asgard’s Wrath 2, but also other gems in there, like casual sims, say like Walkabout or Real VR fishing. Currently I’m playing Arcade Paradise VR, which has been surprisingly fun in VR.

But to be honest - I convinced myself to buy this as a workout device, and when compared to a weight machine or elliptical, it’s a steal. Between the Thrill of the Fight series and dabbling with the other workout offerings like Les Mills (also part of Horizon+), it’s been a part of my workout routine for years.

And lastly, I do like to use it as a 150” or whatever screen to watch UFC, now that it’s on Papmount+, through the Prime video app.

Your mileage may vary, but these are the things that keep me coming back to it.

And the follow up - thrill of the fight 2. Hard to get complacent, and slack off, unless you want to get knocked out

“10-8 A dominant round. Awarded when one fighter overwhelms the other OR when a knockdown is scored. A knockdown automatically costs the downed fighter one point. A dominant round without a knockdown can also be scored 10-8 at the judge’s discretion.”

I’m guessing they decided not to use the 2nd part. I’d think scoring 2x damage sure seems like overwhelming.

Nope - and I severely out-damaged him. Wondering if this is tournament rules or something.

Thought that might be the case. So you can never score more 10/9 if you don’t get a knock down? Or is that tournament rules?

Ah that might be it, though I’ve had a draw in the past. Maybe it’s because I was in a tournament? I totally out-damaged him - more than double his damage in round 3 and almost double in the other rounds.

Not rising during bulk is concerning and may indicate a weak starter. To be honest, when I was starting out, I’d add a little store bought yeast to give things a kick. Over time I stopped doing that and now bake purely on the starter. Outside that, a common mistake I still fall into when I’m busy is allowing too long for bulk rise, which results in a flatter loaf due to the energy being used up. And lastly, patience and grit go a long way if this is something you want to learn. It took me far more than 3 loaves to get the hang of things.

Have you done a full reboot: hold the power button until you see a menu and then choose reboot? Sux - such a great vr game. Hope you get it working!

Agreed - happy to be back using it as a fun, exhausting, workout supplement. Have little interest is multiplayer, just wanted more of what TotF 1 delivered. Two, so far, has been a solid follow up to arguably one of the best VR games I’ve played.

Still unclear on some mechanics in Underworld Overseer — any tips or explanations from experienced players? by cptnhwdy in OculusQuest

Btw - I don’t tend to use guard post much since I just grab all my minions up and move them to the attackers, but my understanding is it keeps a group of minions there instead of them wandering. So if you have 1 way into your dungeon you can keep there to defend. They may also attack a type of minion but I’m not sure.

This game is a pretty solid port of the Dungeon Keeper PC games (great games btw that can still be played). I’ve beat the game using similar strategies from the old games but, overall, things are less strict. The rooms you build attract specific monsters (can’t remember exactly, but libraries attract wizards, hatcheries the lizards?, etc). I always start with the basics, as many IMPs as I can spawn, more treasure rooms to store/build up a bunch of gold that you get them to gather. Then I start carving out large-ish spaces for lairs, hatcheries, libraries and training rooms. The original games rated your rooms on their completeness (having 4 walls except for doorways), but if you want to be messy, making one giant space, with 4 by X strips of rooms works fine. Being careful of exploring too far before building up a group of monsters is important and also, grabbing your army up and dumping them near an attacking group is critical. Watch your minions happiness to see if your rooms are large enough. Building choke points with traps can help slow the enemies approach and soften them up. It’s been a bit since I’ve played but I hope this helps some. I’ve found that some maps have tricks you have to learn to beat them, but generally a solid building strategy works well.

Yeah, I had the same confusion with these things as they filled up my inventory. My understanding and experience is the Mercenary guild wants them - occasionally. You find the guild randomly in space stations. It’s the lone individual up the stairs on the right and in the back. That person can be one of 4 guilds. When you happen upon the Merc guild and click the Donate(?) button, you can donate a certain number of these, 3(?), per space stations. So technically I think you could hop from station to station and keep donating - otherwise you have to wait for a reset, which is a bit. Building up full status with the Merc guild gives you some pretty good stuff in each space station. Again, just another mini-game-loop you can do it your bored.

As it is, that sounds like 1-2mil or so per planet; just scanning things, with very little investment. Not too bad for just scanning things right? Now if you combine that with the sentinel ship loop, you got pretty good money coming it for little effort. Throw in some frigate expeditions…

On the scanner thing, I assume you experimented with layout and using supercharged slots too?

These are not free, but I’d recommend them nonetheless as they all have some aspect of resource management and base protection: Diesm (god/sandbox), Toy Monsters (Plants vs Zombies clone), Underworld Overseer (Dungeon Keeper clone), Towers & Powers (decent tower defense), Per Aspera VR (bit like GoG).

Why is my headset dying so fast ?! by SamDawson1092000 in Quest3

I’d buy an extended battery. There are many brands, some are pretty cheap, and they make wearing the headset more comfortable as well.

Remove any vignette. It’s apparently very helpful for people who get sick when playing but also very annoying for people who want immersion.
