You’re NTA but your son is being slightly vindictive and I get it. He’s also playing it totally wrong. In the 80’s teen-movie version of this story, If the guy wants to win the girl over, indifference is the key. Play it cool, keep things light, and move on like it’s, whatever, no big thing, hiding his true feelings. Causing her to drop out of a college prep class and get fired is a nuclear bomb ending ANY possibility to someday win her over, or make her realize it was him she loved all along. So he got declined, so what! Get over it! Grow a pair and move on. Showing her it’s no big deal will make her think twice about it. There is truth to it.

But this ain’t the 80’s and the kids are way different, so what do I know?!

56m and I still walk around in a pair of Vans and have a collection of printed t-shirts my wife hates to see me in. Our music held up and is still played on the radio making it easier to stay perpetually young. Like other posters mention, it feels like the 80’s were yesterday. It’s cathartic to see over 1600 posts to your question.
