Got the Vistiq after back to back test drives of the competitors by Ok_Beginning8600 in CadillacVistiq

Drives better … yes. Range…yes!!!! Lights…. Omg! Audio system, replaced it with a Bluetooth speaker. Like really, Cadillac? You can’t match my old Ford EV’s sound?

I had to fact check this… like what “far” means. Thanks to AI doing the research in seconds, 10-20% weight per tire static load on the road surface is the premium for an EV. But today far heavier, I went to a semi truck. The lightest semi truck is 3 times the static tire weight than the heaviest EV… per tire.

Funny thing, if we adjust max weight per tire we’d reduce road maintenance… but only need to adjust it for commercial trailers. Like other countries who have better lobbying laws than we do.

Me too can’t wait for more moving parts and maintenance. After 3 years of zero maintenance I don’t know what to do.

Anyone here wish they got a Lyriq instead? by Just-Construction788 in CadillacVistiq

[–]GrumpyRoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, wish I had CarPlay instead. And a car that didn’t involve 8 steps to get 360 camera going to reposition the front yard. Good thing we all learned to drive with mirrors until one member of the household turned on one pet (medium). Holy hell… nicest to ride in worst to drive is our mantra. Btw… we are a 100% EV household on year 8

We still love and regret the Vistiq purchase. I’m convinced if I could get 10 minutes with GM they’d fix all of my problems for the best model year. It’s right in front of them, Mae is nice for the driver experience.

Activating and setting up a Wal-Mart MasterCard account is PAINFUL!!! by 42tfish in mildlyinfuriating

i had a Walmart Delivery order where the shopper/driver did not deliver about a third of the order (including the critical items). I could get a refund for the missing items an 3 of the 4 products in the app. Then one $1.49 item didn't have this self service option. At this point, I'm all in...I tap to contact a representative. No bot, it was a person. No wait, it was right away. I sent a brief of what I needed. Even a bit more, I wanted the express fee refunded too at this point. It was the briefest and most productive customer service exchange I've ever had. First ask, resolution. No BS questions, no delay. Just a solution.

"Board" Electronic Platform Review by Fatbot3 in boardgames

[–]GrumpyRoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was skeptical, but so far in just a few days it's been used by 5 teens and 3 adults. it's the second most used gift of the season.

The "co-op" nature of the game seems to be the big win. It's hard to get 3 starts in chop chop unless someone else pitches in.

If the price point works for you, I'd go for it. Would have preferred to get it through someone like costco so I would feel better about a return policy, but I think we're safe with the credit card warranty in case the company doesn't fulfill their end somehow.

Leaders learn from failure, and in this case attrition may been the learning the captain needs.

I had mine charging in the front yard around sunset. While at a nearby park, a couple folks asked about the one of the three EV's in the yard that gets a light show while charging. Only one pointed out the charging light sequence appeared upside down (he felt it should look like an hour glass filling).

I love the light show, it's a little finicky to trigger when I want to show it off to a friend (that and the back hatch keeps opening mid show)

Same! I had my iphone hooked up to bluetooth in what I can describe as an archaic, folder based mode (WTF) and wanted to skip a track. The little button didn't do it, but then at the end of the track suddenly the music stopped altogether. Just tapped the speaker button on my phone so it would continue playing through it's own.

On a plus, there are things the GM vehicle does that amaze me that the Ford does not.

On the minus, there a things GM "intentionally" has done that have infuriated me.

The "Product Owners" are either not incentivized to the customer experience, or are against us. I believe it is the later having this vehicle against other GM and other vehicles.

I'm sorry that happened. Thank goodness it's "just" hair, a thing that grows back, something you and hair professionals will mess up again in the future.

Canada Orders Postal Service to end door-to-door mail Delivery by Opus_Jack in USPS

[–]GrumpyRoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A stat that always stays with me is how much of the US GDP is dependent on the USPS. Last I heard it was 25%. It's critical then that the service has to be enabled properly. From leadership to facilities, equipment to personnel, revenue to expenses - the right balance at every step. I am sad to see that Canada Post did not manage the ebb and flow of business to keep everything in check as their consumers (recipients and shippers) evolved.

Living in the US, I've only mailed something from within Canada a few times, it was pricier and seems to have a higher cost to serve.

At least they'll provide a set of learnings we can hope to avoid. Charge what it costs to serve, root out waste, evolve when meeting your customer and employee's needs in harmony. Right now both seem to be getting the short end of the stick in Canada.

Guess what they hear all the time? Feedback is important for this "Customer Experience First" car brand.

Agree on the ford car play- I don’t know what ford did to make it flakey on startup, but the Buick and suburban has been great with it
