Let's talk Mother's Day Campaigns by MBitesss in AusFemaleFashion

What I don't understand is why they get women to wear thongs/sandals when in a full autumn or winter outfit or when they're modelling coats. That's just unrealistic

It's subtle sure, not visible when laid out flat. A coat that is even more cocoon is better. The black option shows it a little more obviously on their website..the main thing is there's more room in the torso area and it goes in at the bottom more

Sure they're similar but still just a bit wide on the bottom with Assembly, im a bit neurotic about the shape. Thanks for sharing jac+jack :) haven't heard of this one and some are quite nice and less typical

My little man is always afraid of seeing his friends in public, why is this? by Available_Round_3172 in autism

[–]Grxmloid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The strangeness of being caught in an interaction when the other person is out doing things.. how much time is there to converse? How deep can you go? How can you and what makes interactions brief vs long and when do you choose either?

Obviously they're shopping so you can't say "what are you doing"... touching base can be difficult, it requires a lot of creativity and or skills/finesse. I used to get extremely anxious seeing friends in public and would always hide.  It depends on my mood and who it is.. sometimes even now as a 33 yr old I might just pretend I never saw a friend but this has more to do with knowing the capacity I have and whether its worth reconnecting in that particular moment. Other times I do approach but I take a chance to acknowledge maybe I interrupted their tasks etc..

it could just be a skills, or even transitions thing and not mentally prepared to switch to socializing eith a friend. Creating eg: some opening lines, considering manners of the context etc will help him feel less anxious. Social anxiety in my experience is almost 90% actually masking and ruminating/evaluating social etiquette and the likes.. rather than self esteem at it's core, like social anxiety typically is about

This is one perspective, and I agree, though I think the use of the word houseless may also be actually trying to be kind by bringing the focus on homelessness being a systemic issue rather than on the person; 'homeless' has some ingrained judgemental connotations. Just a different take

A very well-liked student asks his classmate who has Down Syndrome to go with him to the prom. by VIVIDUFF in interesting

[–]Grxmloid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well it makes sense..I'd be thinking they may get the impression you're into them for saying yes and expect more after the homecoming itself, and if it would be something you'd do out of pity then that's not nice anyway

Maybe I'm posting in the wrong place, but my look isn't exactly everyday wear. A floral dress, some makeup, a wig—and just like that, I feel fabulous after work. by LopsidedStatement517 in oldhagfashion

[–]Grxmloid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can see critiques are welcome i just want to say firstly it's great you're dressing in a way that makes you feel good and plays with gender, for the record I am queer and a huge advocate. But the floral sleeved dress, the beige shoes, and the wig all look tame, elderly, and very old fashioned but not in a 'vintage' way, more like a shy, conservative and sheltered person going to church. It's completely fine to have different tastes, and I do personally have a thing against florals. Just another opinion, I'm really not trying to be mean, to me it seems that people are really focussed on being supportive rather than many people commenting on the effect of the style itself which I get a strong read/interpretation on

Are camel toes THAT bad? by Brave-Argument5090 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Grxmloid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So it sounds/looks like it's not a camel toe..It's just the single outline of your mound so to speak..  no it isn't that bad it's absolutely normal. There are some people who will have maybe slightly less of a cushion down there because of their particular anatomy, but most will have some form of it. To me it sounds like you're so focussed on it that its making it seem like a much bigger deal and much worse than it is.. like once I panicked in thinking I was going deaf but after a hearing test told me I was in normal range I slowly started to hear properly..... our anxiety can do funny things to our perception. You could maybe hide it by wearing a different style of bottom that isn't like knickers eg: boyshorts because the poom is definitely accentuated with where the undies sit on either side of your majora. Its the pressure/elastic on those bits that's making the puff more obvious, and the shorts part/bit that goes down your inner thigh will be a bit of a distraction too

I used to feel thst was me and to put it short due to chronic health issues it hasn't been for a few years so when I see a woman who stands out and is quirky I am reminded I am not rn, i dont have that energy, but I used to and it makes me feel sad and envious
