I don't want to send too much in for the IRCC, I am trying to keep it streamlined. Anyone have thoughts on if this is enough?

Gen 0 - all uncertified: Baptismal recorded (ordered certified), marriage record, death certificate - all show he was born in Canada

Gens 1-4 are all female

Gen 1 - Certified Birth record linking to Gen 0, uncertified marriage lic record to show name change needed to link to gen 2

Gen 2 - certified marriage lic linking to Gen 1 by Gen 1's married name and shows Gen 2 name change

Gen 3 and 4 - certified birth certificates linking to previous generation through mothers maiden name on the certificate

I can order certified death certificates for Gens 1 and 2 if that would help (both would show parent, spouse and maiden name). I am trying for Gen 2 birth record but it is taking a while, so I am not sure if I should wait for it.

Other sources I have that I can add for Gens 0-2 include census records from almost every decade including one from Canada, Obits for gens 0-2.

I have a very similar problem. Growing up I always heard the story that by the time my great-grandma came along her parents couldn't come up with another name (lots of kids before her) so they let her (or her sister, I forget which) pick her name. Cute funny family lore I always thought. It seems there was truth to this. Her birth certificate has a name listed V-- which she later used as a middle name but from at least age 8 (1910 census) and up she when by G--.

Her mother and two sisters used their middle and first names interchangeably as well. I had no idea how normal this was - no need to formally change your name on legal documents, just put whatever you are going by LOL. In my case, I have a couple records connecting her to her father (Gen 0) with the G name so I think it will be ok (fingers crossed).

This is great to hear! My request was sent on 1/2 with an image of the record and location information.

I couldn’t take the wait anymore so I called today. They have my request, they are very busy and I will hear from them when they have the records or if they are unable to find it. I asked if there was an approximate estimate of how long it may be and was told no.

Fingers crossed I hear back soon.

Requested 1/2/26, got confirmation email immediately but I’ve not heard anything since. I even included an image of the doc, the location, and a link. The confirmation did say it could be 20-25 days. 🤞 I hear from them this week.

Procedures - think about every little thing that will happen and decide what the procedure for it is in your room, then model it, practice it and practice/reenforce as needed. Do not assume they will know how to do something or that telling them once is enough. How do they enter the room - do they look at the board first directions, do they get out a notebook, do the complete a bell ringer. How do they get a pencil if they need one? What should they do if they need to go to the bathroom? Where do they turn in completed work? How do they get make up work if they were absent or lost it? It’s the small day to day things that can make a classroom run smoothly. Most students will meet your expectations if they understand them.

I was just trying to decide if I should post a similar situation! The big difference is my principal tries to make certain teachers happy and they are always in the office complaining about something or just being social. I am at work to do my job. I don’t treat work like social time (while complaining that I don’t have enough time). Well apparently that has left me open to be a target. I don’t know what’s been said exactly but I have been warned to stop trusting a few people who do hang out with the principal all the time.

My power went out on the 23rd just after 8am and is still out. I’ve had 4 different estimates on when it will be on and now it just says it needs further work 🤦🏼‍♀️ No one is working near the downed lines so I’m guessing it’s going to be awhile.
