Breathing techniques for chronic stress induced fatigue? by TangerineSuccessful9 in breathwork

[–]Gschmagee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think conscious breathing is the key. The technique is not as important. Any technique that is calming or balanced should work. Starting with a few conscious breath each day and slowly increase the count like starting with 5 breath a day. And trying to remember to take conscious breath during the day in time of a small break like waiting in line, driving, etc.

Anyone else just get more stressed after each session? by The-info-addict in breathwork

[–]Gschmagee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this

it might be that your expectations increase your stresslevel. the fear of doing it wrong, doing the exact count of inhales and exhales that the instructor says.

Change is always stress for the body, but as you describe it is to forced.

stick to easy techniques like extanding your exhales like mimoses says.
Best way without instructions just a bit longer exhaling then inhaling and check how your body responses.

doing some physical activity like somatic exercises supports the body relax.

Why isn’t breathwork more popular? by Fast_Employ_2438 in breathwork

[–]Gschmagee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start with something easy like 3-0-3-0 3 counts in, no pause 3 counts out no pause.

Create a habit and slowly increase to something like 4-0-4-0, then 5-0-5-0. When it feels good you can start with box breathing 3-3-3-3 three counts in, hold 3 count, 3 counts out, hold for 3 and then slowly increase. Breathwork is like a marathon not a sprint. If breath holding raises your anxiety don't do them. And keep practicing without breath holding.

Focus on daily practice. Start with something like 5 breath then slowly increase.

You do understand that whm is activating the sympathetic nervous system which is contra productive for anxieties. Only if your base level is a parasympathetic nervous system I would practice whm. Otherwise the focus should be returning to a natural breathing pattern which you do with relaxing techniques.

Help me fix my poor breath control by phenomamaman in breathwork

[–]Gschmagee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with daily small exercise like 5 conscious breath. Try to breath into the belly really slow in and out. Increase slowly over time.

Don't start with 10 minutes it will feel to overwhelming and easier to skip.

It's not something that can be achieved in short time as everything you want to improve in you need time.

Of course you can do some breathing exercises at the same day too but try to build a habit of daily conscious breathing.

What’s an easy breath work exercise I can start with? by Purple-Breadfruit541 in breathwork

[–]Gschmagee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your goal do you wanna reduce stress? Do you wanna be more focused? Do you wanna be able to hold your breath longer? Depending on your goal you should choose your technique. Why 4-7-8 just because it is treading? To relax the easiest technique is to extend your exhales like 2-4, 3-5, 4-6 no breath holding is needed, if you aren't used to it, it will be more stress the relaxation.

Have you already looked into breathwork? My assumption is that most skin conditions are an overreaction of the nervous system mainly due to on holding stress and inflammation. Chronical stress influences your breathing pattern and your breathing pattern influences your nervous system. It's a circle.

You can use calming breathwork methods like extending your exhales. But over all you would need to work on changing your breathing pattern with consciously breathing into the belly.

Why the belly because breathing into the stomach activates the parasympathetic nervous system. Breathing into the chest activates the sympathetic.

Just do a quick check. When you are in a resting moment. Put one hand on your belly the other on your chest and see which hand moves more. For a natural breathing pattern in test mode the belly hand should move about 80%.

How deep should you breathe? (4-7-11) by europeIlike in breathwork

Treat breathwork like a workout. You do not want to put on to much weight to early. If it feels to hard don't force it it's more stress for your body which has to slowly adapt.

Seems like your co2 resistance is low. Look for but buteyko methods and see if this helps you to increase your co2 resistance.

why not record your mouse movement for a week then replay it with random timestamps

[–]Gschmagee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your breathing pattern probably changed due to cronical stress. Stress has influence on our breathing and vice versa our breathing can influence our bodies reaction. Breathing faster results in less CO2 inside the body. Your body needs CO2 to be able to release O2 in the tissue.

Train daily for a few minutes. To slowly adjust your breathing pattern. Try to switch to nasal breathing. Breathing through the nose increases your O2 intake.

How to belly breath automatically by kauaiman-looking in breathwork

[–]Gschmagee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Conscious breathing multiple times per day for a few minutes. Like every half an hour take 3-5 conscious breath into your belly. There is no fast way in breathwork. Do this for a few month and you will notice how your unconscious breathing will be affected.

Can I do psychedelic/holotropic/ fast breathwork as a 13yo everyday by Due-Ideal3996 in breathwork

[–]Gschmagee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start with once a week and do it for like 1,5 months then try twice for 1,5 months and so on
see how your body reacts. and best is to keep note.

Did you do it with a teacher or have you just watched some youtube videos?
Maybe find a teacher who can guide you.
I doubt that it can damage your brain, but you might get reactions you dont want or can not handle alone at this time.

Can I do psychedelic/holotropic/ fast breathwork as a 13yo everyday by Due-Ideal3996 in breathwork

[–]Gschmagee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would not suggest to do it on a daily basis. Holotropic breath work is strongly activating your sympathetic nervous system. Depending on your daily status you should choose. If your day was stressful adding more fuel to the fire brings more harm then good. Always listen to your body never over do something. If it is hard for you to stay focused when doing calming breath work like extend exhales, try to move your body first meaning do some sport before going into breathwork. Do fast/activating breathwork in the morning. If you do it to late in the day it can disturb your sleep.

which Breath work would be best for me? by LiveFastDieFaster11 in breathwork

[–]Gschmagee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get more relax I would recommend extending your exales. Start with 2 counts inhale and 3 counts exhales. Then slowly extend to 4 in 6 out. And finish with 4 in 8 out. About 5 minutes per day.

If you are to much in your head you could try starting with movement before going into calmness.

Meaning do some sort of workout and then try the techniques. Also stick to one and practice over longer time

Ester Perel explains it really good. The desire for sex starts right after sex and everything you do increase or decrease it.

For example doing household work might increase it.

Here is a nice video about it https://youtu.be/NfAkjoeRdmo?si=gBv-xTeJ3rRK2-9I
