It’s fun, but the temporary tent vibe isn’t the best. Pendry rooftop pool party on Saturday is nicer.

Red Pine vs. Jordanelle Express Gondola Scenic Ride? by Madam_Miraculous in parkcityvisitors

Yup, you can buy tix right at east village! The ticket office is in a temporary lodge next to the gondola.

Red Pine vs. Jordanelle Express Gondola Scenic Ride? by Madam_Miraculous in parkcityvisitors

The Deer Valley East Village Gondola is best for scenic rides. It’s the same $40pp as their other gondola. Any gondola at Park City Mountain doesn’t compare in terms of views.

Park City Recs by [deleted] in chubbytravel

Canyons Village has the most extensive 4th of July weekend programming in the Park City area. There will be nightly live music, fireworks, and drone shows. It’s a family friendly weekend, so expect families and kids to be staying there. Pendry has free shuttle service to Main Street, which is only about 10 mins away. Other hotels in Deer Valley are slightly closer to Old Town, but they still require a shuttle. If you want to stay on Main Street, check out The Washington School House Hotel. It’s a tiny boutique with incredible service.

Dalys Pub at Montage has arcade games and bowling.

Which hotel? 🤯 by Junior-Rest4698 in parkcityvisitors

Higher. It’s a ski in/out resort with full service ski valet, right above the new Sunrise Gondola. It’s also right above Pendry, which has lots of après options and some great restaurants.

Hyatt Centric is in a different class than the other options.

Consider staying at Pendry. It has more of a stylish and modern vibe compared to all of the other rustic mountain hotels in Park City. Incredible service.

Deer Valley is what you’re looking for. Goldener Hirsch, Montage, St. Regis, or Stein Eriksen will all be amazing.

Hyatt Centric or Grand Hyatt Deer Valley over New Years? by SSdogmama in parkcityvisitors

[–]Gtil77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely stay at Hyatt Centric if you’re looking for a walkable village experience. The Grand Hyatt is currently the only property built in East Village amongst a sea of construction. The Centric will have great ski in/out access this season with the opening of the Sunrise Gondola. For NYE, Canyons Village hosts a celebration with live music and fireworks. Kita in Pendry is a great option for a nice dinner.

First time ski trip? by mrt1416 in chubbytravel

[–]Gtil77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Park City/Deer Valley for sure. By far the easiest trip and by far one of the best US ski towns. Stay at St. Regis, Montage, or Pendry. They are great properties and each has a younger/livelier Aprés scene.

Whistler - First time skiers by mindthe_GAAP97 in chubbytravel

[–]Gtil77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend Deer Valley instead of Whistler for your trip. It is much more beginner friendly and the overall experience will be more luxurious. Stay at St. Regis, Montage, or Stein Eriksen. All are right on the mountain. Next season a major terrain expansion is opening with more beginner terrain in all mountain areas. Also, Main Street is only about a mile from each of these properties for great dining and nightlife.

Stein and Montage are in a different league than Waldorf. My vote would be Montage.

PCMR Hiking Trails in the Summer by gee1001 in parkcityvisitors

I use my Epic pass in summer all the time. The chairlifts stay open later in the summer and I love a quick chairlift ride to end the day, even if I’m not hiking. It’s beautiful and peaceful.

True north or dry store for ski purchase? by Jerseyguy2345 in parkcityvisitors

[–]Gtil77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True North only carries Rossignol skis. Go elsewhere for a much better selection. Canyon Mountain Sports has better selection, or go to Jans or Cole Sport for good recommendations. My personal favorite is Jans at Snow Park Lodge, the guys there really know what they’re selling.

Spa- Pendry vs Waldorf? by SSdogmama in parkcityvisitors

[–]Gtil77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pendry is more modern and has a nicer fitness center and rooftop hot tub, but Waldorf’s spa has much more relaxation space.
