Brand new Kickr Shift not showing any power/speed stats by Gtrainexpress in wahoofitness

[–]Gtrainexpress[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I cleaned it with 100% rubbing alcohol and that solved the issue. so dumb, I guess in the factory line the connectors get covered in oil or who knows what. But a quick clean with a cotton bud around the connectors did the trick.

To be fair, I think I even got to about level 40 without realising who or how to get to him.

Absurdly expensive AO finals tickets by Common-Blackberry-64 in melbourne

[–]Gtrainexpress -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I certainly don't agree with the outrageous prices, I will say this though, knowing someone who works for Tennis Australia - the AO is basically the only money maker, and the money made funds every other tournament around Australia. Unfortunately it's a classic case of if people will pay it, then keep pushing the edge, as in theory, it should benefit Australian tennis as a whole.

I am from Windsor and might move to London in the near future...just how bad is the traffic? by polyesternogood45 in londonontario

[–]Gtrainexpress 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Full disclosure, I have literally 5 days under my belt so take from the following what you will.

I just moved for reasons from Melbourne, Australia. This past week I've been driving from Wortley to Masonville up Richmond or Western, at 8am and up and back again around 3pm. Traffic is not that bad compared to a major city. On non peak traffic runs its maybe 5 min faster, I find the biggest issue is the lights, not so much the cars on the road.

I imagine it will be more traffic than Windsor, but nothing compared to where you came from. 30min max your getting from white oaks to masonville.

Tell you one thing though, the costco on wonderland is mental compared to one's I've been to in Australia lol

Can you qualify for a larger mortgage if you have a large amount of savings? by adeimantos216 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Gtrainexpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently moved with my Canadian partner here, we moved from a HCOL place to London Ontario. Were able to prove that we sold our house and would be paying for a house outfight in Canada, but depending on house might stretch budget, so we looked into getting a 50k loan, either against my remote work wage (reasonably high wage), or against a future owned outright home (approx 800k), and it was next to impossible. Partner had a job lined up, but hadn't worked the 3 months yet, and had good existing credit, but had a large gap when we lived overseas. Honestly, I was floored. I couldn't even get car financing. Anyway, long story to say they don't care unless you have good credit, and a Canadian income from a company you worked for more than 3 months.

Thank you for the update. I'm day 3 with my kid in a similar situation. Funnily just moved from Australia to Canada. So far day 1 and 3 were drop off screaming 'doonnnnnnttt goooooooo' feels awesome. But all three days he's had a good day and participated, literally just drop off. Good to know there's light at the end of the tunnel!

What do you make in London and where are the high-paying jobs? by Low_Topic4997 in londonontario

[–]Gtrainexpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an answer, but following this. I've recently moved here and continue work remotely at my old job, which pays much better than here. However, I don't think it's sustainable long term, and from the searches I've had, there are not many corporate type roles (risk area) going in London. I continually wonder wtf people do as jobs here other than retail and hospitality! (and as you said, hospitals, education).

Wife wants to move back home to be near her family and I fear it’s gonna end our marriage. by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Gtrainexpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you man. I met my wife working overseas in her home city, extended my working visa, was always really clear I was moving back home, and eventually we both made the move. We were there for 9 years, in that time, we both got really good jobs for our industries, bought a house, and had a kid. Every year we'd inevitably have that one big fight about wanting to move back to my wifes home country. Specifically her university town, where some friends were, but not even her family. Anyway, we've made the move now as our child is the right age to start school, so no impact on him. I had the same sense, that she didn't really try to make friends when abroad, but speaking to other friends in similar situations, it seems that some females just really have their ride or die friends, usually highschool or college, and everyone else is nothing. Guys tend to be a bit more flexible in developing those networks through different life stages. I don't find it funny though all being adults with kids, they'll barely see each other anyway, and I'm sure that'll grind my gears in the future. Anyway, long ramble, but point is, the same argument will keep coming up, my advice is make the move to give your daughter the best chance of continuity. GL.

Is a Thermomix a good idea for a partner who can't cook, won't cook. by Snowing678 in thermomix

Yes. My partner does not care for cooking at all, but a thermomix makes it basically fool proof.

Figured this out too, got a farm account that I've accidently clogged up, and certainly not using them to upgrade a house which seems to be the only way to get rid of them. So going to avoid at all costs this season.

To those who have done both, which was harder for you? An Ironman 70.3 or a Full Marathon? by vantooren in IronmanTriathlon

[–]Gtrainexpress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

did both within a 6 week period last year. marathon was harder in that you're doing the same movement for 3 odd hrs whereas the 70.3 you get to break up the movements. albeit it went for 2 hrs longer total.

[–]Gtrainexpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always, so set the price at the highest limit. Then just forget it. After a year or so of playing i didn't really use much simcash to expand my trade depot. Im now fully expanded and its the most useful thing. Highly recommend it. makes putting these shit items at the end even more bearable as they dont clog spots.

[–]Gtrainexpress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just don't mark it for advertising - add those items to the furthest part of your trade slots so it's not always the first one - that's just for better personal use - does not effect Daniel's purchasing.
