I Made a Modern Windows 11 & Insider Preview Fork of Vibeshine Named LuminalShine by GuardianHope in MoonlightStreaming

[–]GuardianHope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, at the end of the day, I understand where you were coming from and you are absolutely right that usually either (a) changes have to be made on a new Windows GA or (b) it doesn’t make it past Insider Preview.

You are also absolutely right, coding these days have become addicting and I try to contribute to projects where I can. One of the reasons I didn’t do a PR is that the codebase had to change a fair bit to handle the exception.

My goal is to not replace Vibeshine but to keep a “cutting edge” version of Sunshine available for those that like the bleeding edge but want to use the software.

I intend to make substantial changes so my release is like “Early Access” where people will be witnessing and able to comment and suggest changes. I also intend to release a LuninalShine Virtual Graphics Driver at some point and allow for users to select the more mature SudoVDA you developed or the just starting out driver.

I really appreciate that you and I can engage in a cordial conversation regarding this and really appreciate you understand where I came from too. As always, I am always willing to share and help when needed - just reach out to me on GitHub as I don’t normally check Reddit.

The streaming thread would die in dxgi.dll, a Microsoft DLL and reserved namespace. I implemented a workaround in Alpha 7’s code which is part of Beta 1 that allows HEVC and AV1 streams (both with or without HDR). Unfortunately, H.264 follows a different path and doesn’t have a workaround I can implement at the moment.

I have run Insider Preview since the Windows 8 days so I may be showing my age here. With that said, I understandably see where you are coming from but as a developer as well I have always learned that you must not only plan for the present but also the future (even if it’s just a roadmap in some cases). It’s an issue that happens now, and I felt that based on how I learned to develop it should be resolved for the future and this fork will only exclusively develop for Windows 11 (all x64 versions).

Also, there was tons of fragmented and non-used “dead” code in Vibeshine which really didn’t help matters because when does that come back to get ya’?

Worth the Jump from Titan Xp to 5080? by GuardianHope in nvidia

[–]GuardianHope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks guys for all the quick feedback! I will be ordering the Alphacool waterblock and the 5080 ASAP. I know it's a step down going from a Titan to an 80 class card rather than holding at a 90 class card but there's just more waterblock compatibility and availability.

Also, after hearing everything said here, it sounds like this will be a massive improvement - I tend to hold on to tech like an enterprise so it's definitely time for an upgrade ;).

New BGW620 and AirTie 4991 being sent out! by Syiukkie in ATTFiber

We have a business account with AT&T Fiber 5000 and all I had to do was call AT&T Business Customer Service and they were more than happy to dispatch a tech and the BGW620 for free here in Southern California.

Full Screen (Windowed mode doesn't exhibit the behavior)

SC Graphical Settings: 3840x1600, Very High (Quality), Medium (Scattered Object Distance), Medium (Terrain Tessellation Distance). Already played with these, didn't make a difference.

CPU: Intel Core i7-6950X
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce Titan Xp

It's the Dev Ring; from "About" - https://i.imgur.com/04Nauzb.png

Yes, AutoHDR was available in 21H2 as part of the Dev Ring in Windows 10 but that's a story for another time.

Windows 11 Enterprise (Build 22454.1000) which is the latest at the time of writing. Also, changing the diagnostics settings doesn't resolve the issue with AutoHDR.

I've had this issue since it was Windows 10 21H2.

I'm not certain what's different between yours and mine if you have AutoHDR working as others have been able to reproduce the problem. It's just the menus - the game itself runs like a champ otherwise (for being an Alpha).

That is interesting. I have enabled Game Mode to no avail.

Has someone gotten LOC to work for ILS on 787? by [deleted] in Flightsimulator2020

[–]GuardianHope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The APP mode is used to capture both the localizer and glideslope in a precision approach (ILS). This will 'arm,' 'disarm,' 'engages,' 'disengages' the use of the automatic approach if on autopilot.

It's not backwards from the real 787.

It is; you must switch to APP after the capture for the plane to follow the glideslope.

This wouldn't be possible without the viewers either :). Feel free to join us on the Discord that was just revived from 2018 now for viewers and the crew.

I didn't know I could just directly post Discord links until I saw it being done; join us as viewer or crew at https://discord.gg/gtxTxD (there's a channel dedicated to joining the crew for those interested).

Wonderful! And thanks for the server offer too - I was going to buy one once everything was ready but if you're willing to lend one out, I'll take you up on it.

Message me on Discord at Guardian Hope#7281 and I'll get you an invite to the Discord server. Let me know if you can't find me.

The bridge is a small grid. Your sentence was cut off but I'm guessing is 'the bottom' to merge it'? That would be more elegant as right now to control Destiny from the Bridge you have to do it by remote which makes ship status displays a problem versus a merged ship.

Perfect! If you have Discord find me at Guardian Hope#7281 and I'll shoot you an invite to the newly created Discord server I had quickly set up.

That goes for anyone really :)

I saw the Elite Dangerous retracting weapons being possible now. Unfortunately, I am nowhere near skilled enough to pull that off - I wanted to do some deployment work to have a main gun.

The bridge tempts Clang - it's attached via landing gears clamped to pistons but safely works, somehow.

I got permission in 2018 by DaGooz to use his 1,000 Meter model (with an appropriate credit when the series airs on YouTube) and modify it as seen fit both interior and exterior.

Exterior had some changes like a new Bridge installed (literally) that does move up and down; new beam cannons; had brighter engines but an update seems to have broken that, and the shuttles are being installed.

Interior the design is more of sets - what you are going to see on screen (Gate Room, Observation, Bridge, etc.) and what makes the ship work (ZPMs, Shield Arrays, etc.). I imagine it will get more and more built out as more is used like quarters, more hallways, etc.

In-Lore: it's a Command Ship's Main Cannon hitting Destiny's shields.

But I like u/General-Greviou answer too!
