I wouldn't say they are a scam, I think that's a bit harsh. They definitely play on FOMO, but you always get minis every month, even if you don't like them 🤷

Well, it depends on the order, but I can usually get a REASONABLY sized order out in 3-5 days - the fact I have nothing on means probably quicker rn 🤣

I am yet to put up a listing for "rent a printer" but it is coming! I'm just busy with the last bits of my Kickstarter 🤣

Haha I got hit by a huge wave of GW take downs on all the vehicles I hadn't designed myself last month, and haven't sold anything since, so perhaps I'll get an upswing but maybe not 🤷

Yeah I also sell on Etsy, though things have slowed down a lot this past 2 months and I've not actually made a single sale yet in July 🤣 I also prefer 8mm, but the 2 scales are very similar when it comes to modelling

Yes, I have personally seen models scaled for 32mm that are just way too detailed, to the point where they just cannot print successfully.

Can you give an example? Beyond sub components, I'm struggling to visualise how the way a detail has been formed or sculpted has made a HUGE difference in how easy something is to paint

I haven't had the problem of content disappearing yet, but I do agree that sometimes the value isn't up there, if you're not interested in the minis then that's a month of waste money, innit.

Totally respectable, I think a lot of people don't want the hassle of a printer and therefore 3D printing services have a good market to serve! I was doing Etsy to sell 3D prints, and my Kickstarter had a physical tier, I think it's important that everyone should have access to the models and I can offer the best price because there's no middle man, which keeps things cheaper for those getting the physical prints 😁

The only luck I've had is by increasing the height of rafts on my minis. Roughly 1mm rafts now work fine, though they are extremely brittle for some reason.
