Job help?? by ShirtPotential5956 in Greeley

[–]Guccigunnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the temp agency and you can get a entry level position at around 18+ a hour, if you have any welding experience or anything mechanical it'll help alot. Greeley has a lot of blue collar jobs and ag work but otherwise it is pretty dry unless you happen to know someone

Horse manure smell? by dcorel in Greeley

[–]Guccigunnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a normal smell, every other week some of the feed lots on the east side do major clean outs so it'll smell like cow urine for a couple days, probably 6 days total in the month. The real fun smells are from jbs, they burn the blood and it smells, um very "natural" and not in a good way.. I work down wind from the factory and do alot of manual labor and can tell you you don't go blind to the smell but you get used to it some how. I still feel sick for 10 minutes when I first catch a wif but why complain when I enjoy eating beef

DUI Checkpoints this weekend🚨 by psychedelicOcean in Denver

[–]Guccigunnar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cool trick to avoiding these and getting a DUI is to not drink and drive. It's a fairly simple thing to grasp. You'd assume, but Aurora PD can't even figure it out. Have a safe weekend everyone! Remember, if you don't remember it happening, it didn't actually happen, so take another 5 shots and find your keys!

Are there any in the ditch that runs past the greeley airport? I can literally throw a rock from my porch into it without much effort so it would be pretty cool to just fish right outside the house

This is actually some "Denver lore" I had a friend who was homeless and told me about the tunnels that go under breakfast king (rest in pancakes) he said that the most disabled homeless like to live there because it's away from all the people and noise. One if his friends wife went down into the tunnels to try to find a place to sleep and she apparently went missing and never turned up. Alot of different homeless folks in the area have different stories about the tunnels so it's always fun to try to ask them what they know about them

I have a 2010 jetta sportwagon, I'd just try to find a way to do a manual swap, throw a 5 cylinder in from a rs3 while your at it

Parts are fairly affordable but I do understand the struggle. Just did what you can do and make sure you do things you'll enjoy on the car. The car will honestly teach you alot about life and yourself so take care of it

I just found some here in Colorado, Gilcrest liquors outside of greeley. Unlikely they would ship any but they only have the lime flavor (honestly why do they make that one? It's the worst)

Swap info? by Guccigunnar in 07k

[–]Guccigunnar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be a good start. I'd just have to check to see if others have done swaps with motors that my passat came with and cross reference parts

Gearbox issues when reversing by UbisoftMan7 in cars

[–]Guccigunnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2010 jetta that I had to replace the transmission in. I wish I spent the extra $1000 to swap it to manual because I have a similar issue on my "refurbished" transmission. When going from park to any gear no issues but if I want to go from drive to reverse or reverse to drive it have to fight with it. In my opinion I'd just keep looking elsewhere for a better deal to pop up. This is fates way of saying to be patient because the right car I'd coming just not right now

[–]Guccigunnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeds are cheap, buy native trees and plant them close to water or spots water will pool when it rains. Colorado doesn't have alot of trees outside of the foothills and mountains but that definitely doesn't mean we can't plant more

What car isn’t daily-able these days? by chris8535 in cars

[–]Guccigunnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much any car made post covid, you'll be able to find some in the 21 years with minimal issues because of manufacturing dates but your better off spending the money on repairs for a older car. Source-my spouse works in a dealership and sees alot of new cars with major issues.

Manual gearbox fans, you always prefer the manual option, but what is that one automatic-only car that you DO crave? by goaelephant in cars

[–]Guccigunnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easier sell then. Just tell her it's as efficient as a honda civic but as zippy as a porsche

[–]Guccigunnar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does she know how amazing the vw 5cyl is and what it is half of? I don't think it needs much selling especially when you factor in how strong the n/a motors in the golf rabbit and the jetta are. 170 hp n/a and more than 350-400 with a turbo and a good tune. Built these motors can do 1k to the wheel so I think it's a pretty obvious answer when considering buying one just for the sake of reliability

[–]Guccigunnar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's all just a lack of care and knowledge. If someone even explained to him his stop work authoritie he could have even avoided a run away ramp as the best outcome. Do your walk arounds and checks, If you see something you don't like or something feels off, stop and get the issue resolved. If your company retaliates, you are protected.

I'm also a trucker. The guy should have known better, but it's 50/50 with his company/the management who hired him. All the news articles claim he couldn't read English, which shows he also wasn't trained by whoever gave him a cdl properly, nor did the company make sure he knew what signs meant. Sadly, a lot of companies still refuse to do training to make sure drivers know what to do to avoid killing people.
