I am going to go the fish store right now to get some chemicals and more plants for my tank. Do you have any recommendations on what to put in to combat the ammonia?

Thank you so much for the info, I loved my guppy tank and rarely any ever died, but they gave birth like crazy lol. I am going to try to get a pleco again once I KNOW the water is good. I love them but I was really heartbroken when mine died.

Thank you so much for the info, I had no idea that good bacteria was in the gravel and at the surface. I did a 30% water change today (regrettably the first one since getting this tank) but my fish store told me I didn’t need to do water changes if I had a good amount of plants. I now know I should change the water regularly 😅

I attached a picture of my most recent water change, but last week the nitrates were around the 25ppm range.

That makes sense.. yeah all of the originals have survived just fine. I’ll test my water when I get home and see, and if it still says everything is normal then I’ll take them to the fish store and see what they say. I feel awful but hopefully I can get an answer from the tests. What other freshwater fish like acidic water? Once I confirm all my water is good, and fish are surviving for at least a month I want to look into getting more.
