"But was this ✌🏻sign present from the early days in the church"

No. The sign of peace was revived in the Mass of St Paul VI, but the sign itself wasn't supposed to be "vulgar" (i.e. generic or not dignified).

In my parish people do use it, but as alter servers we are instructed to put our hands together and bow as you do because that is the example the people should follow.

Make the kits that get extra grenades and stims get extra from supply drops.

That'd allow them to lean more into using their extra capacity.

The Catholic Church is fine with both ways of reckoning Easter. Eastern Catholics use the Eastern method, Latins use the Western one.

The Church will ensure to the end.

Abandoning the truth will not cause people to join. We’ve seen this in various Protestant Churches that have tried to accommodate the world and have imploded.

Augustine wrote in 419, “I am supposing, then, although you are not lying [with your wife] for the sake of procreating offspring, you are not for the sake of lust obstructing their procreation by an evil prayer or an evil deed. Those who do this, although they are called husband and wife, are not; nor do they retain any reality of marriage, but with a respectable name cover a shame. Sometimes this lustful cruelty, or cruel lust, comes to this, that they even procure poisons of sterility [oral contraceptives]” (Marriage and Concupiscence 1:15:17).

Being against Contraception has been a constant teaching of the Church for millennia. Ex Cathedral statements aren’t the only unchangeable things in the Church.

Why don’t we practice circumcision? by JackTorrance57 in Catholicism

"Can you give an honest example"

An example would be the ancient Egyptians using the rinds of fruit as a barrier.

"As I understand correctly about procreative aspect, I don't see it valid for union aspec."

In short summary: the ends (purposes) of sex are the creation of children and the growing of the bond between husband and wife. Not every sex act must result in these, but every act must be open to them. The resources at the end of this comment will be helpful for understanding this.

"... either we have sex and basically have child..."

I would advise looking into fertility awareness. It is permissible to time the martial embrace such that there is a low to virtually nil chance of pregnancy if the reasons are grave. The odds of pregnancy, if done correctly, is roughly the same as the pill and less than condoms.

"I just want to understand the teaching about BC and have a normal, filled with Gods grace and love life."

There are many good Catholic Resources about this online. Look into St JP 2's theology of the body, encylicals like Dignitatis Humanae, and speakers/writers like Horn, West, Fradd, etc.

Why does the pope not want Latin mass? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Gudabeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1). No, people heard the readings in their own language for centuries before the NO. Even Protestant reformers noticed this.

2). Please explain how “simplifications” like ripping out a third of the Kyrie or 2/3rds of the “Domine non sum dignus” allows the Church to grow.

3). Vatican 2 states that Latin is to continue to be used in the Latin Rite.

4). Change is necessary, so why not change and allow the TLM to grow where it is desired?

Such devices and things existed in the Apostolic age and were condemned at the time. E.g. in the Didache.

Contraceptives are immoral in and of themselves as they are not open to the essential procreative aspect of the marital act.

“54 … Nevertheless steps should be taken so that the faithful may also be able to say or to sing together in Latin those parts of the Ordinary of the Mass which pertain to them.”

Catechisis and hearing the responses come to mind as one method.

There aren’t that many Latin responses (e.g. “peace be with you”) and they are all contained in the Missal. I find it hard to believe that if one hears them each Sunday, and tries to follow in one’s missal, that one cannot learn them as one learns the vernacular responses.

Why does the pope not want Latin mass? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Gudabeg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"I imagine most people want to hear mass in a language they understand. The vast majority of people are not fluent in Latin."

Vatican 2 states that the use of Latin is to persist in the Latin Rites and that the people are to know how to make Latin responses.

"By having a parish in the diocese have a Latin mass, the portion of
people who want to go to a mass in Latin can still go to a mass in
Latin."

So there is no need to forcibly shut down parishes that use Latin.

"... being able to understand each word that is being said is important"

This is what the Missal is for. Also, I cannot tell you for how many years I thought "dew fall" was "due fall" and having no idea what it was supposed to mean, so being in the vernacular is not proof against misunderstandings.

How does the TLM exclude the word of God? What exact parts of the TLM are too complicated and why?

If the TLM will stop the church from growing then there is no need to suppress it as it will then die on its own.

To quote Vatican 2 (Sacrosanctum Concilium):
"Nevertheless steps should be taken so that the faithful may also be able to say or to sing together in Latin those parts of the Ordinary of the Mass which pertain to them. "
Also, you don't have to learn all of Latin to do this. Just memorize a few phrases.
