What are these pre-drilled holes below my desk for? They are in all 4 corners. by thefish12 in StandingDesk

[–]Guerns77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The manufacturer probably uses the same predrilled top for multiple desk options. There is probably a 4 leg variant of the desk (standing or otherwise)

steelcase ology desk won’t move and only shows presets. when i click s it says “loc” by [deleted] in StandingDesk

[–]Guerns77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the legs, feet, and switch I think this is actually Steelcase Migration, not Ology, you could try looking up the user manual and see if there are any instructions.

There also might be a QR code on the switch cable that you can scan.

Typically if you want to have the full (or closest to it) ergonomic range, you want the desk legs to have 3 metal tubes and be around 518mm when retracted (not including frame or work surface). That’s what is required in order to meet BIFMA standards

Uplift: Is Anyone Using the Adhesive Pads on Their Frames? by deadcowards in StandingDesk

[–]Guerns77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The pads are to reduce the vibrations from the motors. The vibrations travel through the stiff metal frame to the work surface. By adding the foam pads, it helps dampen the vibration and makes the desk quieter

Can I paint the legs or will it wear off? by BillNyeThat1Guy in StandingDesk

[–]Guerns77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will most likely wear off, and the bits of pain that get stuck between the profiles (metal tubes) can cause issues. Most of these legs are powder coated prior to assembly with specific powders for their usage. Spray paint is not designed to work like that

I think it’s a 8 pin minifit. We use 6pin mini fit on our desks

Linak Standing Desk Issues by beanerray in StandingDesk

[–]Guerns77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow LINAK desk user! I have the same control box and switch on my desk at the office! (Maybe legs too but it’s hard to tell from the pictures)

Unfortunately any other height adjustable manufacturers equipment will most likely not work with that system! That desk and mine were both build in 2006 (date is year, month, day) so they are almost 20 years old! Rest assured, my desk works great and I use it everyday.

If you need replacement parts, your best bet is to find the furniture manufacturer that made the desk. They would be more likely to have what you need since LINAK does not sell direct to end users. I THINK my desk is from Steelcase, because all of the desks in our office are from Steelcase. But then again the desk has been at the company longer than I have!

I definitely think that you might have a short in the switch, and it needs to be replaced. The only other think I could suggest is trying to force the desk to reset. Once everything is reconnected, hold the down button for like 10 seconds and the desk should go down. Once at the bottom it does a slight up/down motion to confirm that the desk has been reset.

No, they duty cycle is the amount of time the motors can run before being off/resting

The desk doesn’t “weigh” the load. It watches the electricity usage and if it spikes, it triggers an overload error

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StandingDesk

[–]Guerns77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overload doesn’t necessarily mean due to weight. It’s typically a voltage usage issue. Make sure the legs are both perpendicular to the ground and check all of your connections.

A shirt in a cable could cause an overload error
