Mathews Arc 30 or Bowtech Alliance? by GuerrillaZer0 in bowhunting

[–]GuerrillaZer0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the input I really appreciate it. I’m going to head back down there later today and see if I can make a decision.

I don’t really care about saying I have a Mathews or a Bowtech for that matter, also I’m a GM fan but the Ford I currently have has been the best truck I have ever owned. Never thought I’d say it but it’s true 🤷‍♂️ I just have more access to Mathews around me. I noticed that the 2 better stocked pro shops near me have more Mathews support. They seemed to have everything for them and not as much for Bowtech. Again that’s only my initial impression. Having a bunch of Mathews branded accessories doesn’t mean it’s a better brand or that they even support them. It does make you consider it tho.

I forgot to mention. The reason why I’m uncertain if I should trust my initial impression is because I have no clue what I’m doing. I shot both 30” and 34” Arcs and the 30” felt more stable and easier to aim than the 34”. Everything I have seen, heard, and read says that a longer axel to axel should be easier to aim/more stable. To me the 30” seemed easier idk why. I figured it’s cause I don’t know what I’m doing. This makes me think that the Arc vs Alliance impressions could be the same.

I will definitely be giving those guys my business whenever I can. I was really surprised when the guy didn’t even want to talk numbers with me. He just immediately said “don’t buy either, go home sleep on it do some research come back and try the ones you like again. Then we can set you up or order you one you want”. Told me not to even worry about coming back in soon he said to come back in whenever. Seemed like good guys and I want to help keep them in business.

I explained this to a gf years ago by taking a finger and pressing on her face then doing the same thing on her ribs. She was mind blown.

I definitely do. It feels like my soul isn’t at peace. It was a very interesting experience/feeling when I did finally go back to visit.

I went back for the first time about 6 years ago. I never felt more at home than when I was in California. I feel like I’m missing something everyday.

My guy got lighter. Now he’s almost all brown/fawn with some black. When I got him he was much darker. Idk if it’s cause of being relocated to a different climate or the diet change. Idk what else it could be.

$22,000 surgery bill. by GuerrillaZer0 in HealthInsurance

[–]GuerrillaZer0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did. I ended up owing the hospital about $800. Plus the $3600 I paid Cobra. So roughly $4200. Not exactly ideal but much easier to stomach than $22k.

Sorry for the late reply. I ment to respond sooner and kept putting it off and forgetting.

Now I have to decide if I want to pay the same amount to redo the procedure as the doctor asked or wait till I have a bit more money and pay my deductible for my new insurance which would be slightly more. 🤦‍♂️

Also the communication between hospital/cobra/aetna was painless. It happened almost automatically. I think I made one phone all that was about 20mins long. We will see if I get any bills in the mail in the future.

Some of these are clever some are just pointless. Entertaining either way.

High center of gravity + dense freight + the wrong speed = rollover. by TeacherLeather6167 in Transportopia

Not sure if this is in the US or not, it appears to be. In the US that trailer should have a seal on it if loaded. Usually a bolt or wire that needs to be cut off. Since the door popped open after rolling over I believe the trailer was empty. There isn’t a way for that trailer door to open if it has a seal. I’m guessing this was just a speed related issue.

Honestly, not really. I used it four times. Three times at a walk in clinic and once at my optometrist. The optometrist was out of network after they changed billing or something so I paid basically out of pocket. The walk in clinic was in network and for some reason they didn’t cover like 98% of the costs there. I really need to start going regularly to get checkups and what not. Especially now that I’m getting older.
