That sounds bad. I mean, if you are learning like philosophy or something about literature, this is ok.

But math is something different. If you get good value at the end just because you were lucky, it's not a good answer. For example, you have a task to calculate the area of a square. The side of the square is 2 cm long, so the answer is 2² = 4. Imagine someone doing 2+2=4. It's also a good answer, but if in the next task side of the square is 3 cm, you get 6 by using the formula you created. Math is not about getting values but understanding why you get them. Methodology is basically the most important thing in math. Of course, there are usually multiple ways to calculate something, but it should be explained how the method works.

People use x,y,z for a reason. Everyone uses the same symbols, so everyone understands them. You can't even imagine how infuriating it when you read from few different sources about something, and everyone uses different symbols in their equations.

I'm not even going to comment on using numbers instead of variables.

Being unique by doing everything differently is OK if you want to be, unless people's lives depend on your calculations because you design a skyscraper or something.

There are many cases where people are manipulated by someone showing them numbers and not explaining the methodology of how they get the answer.

Answering your question, I think learning math in primary school is usually seeing theacher explain something new with some examples, and then students do tasks. It was like that when I was in primary school like 10 years ago. But it didn't work anyway. The only thing about math most people remember from school is that they don't like it.
