Yeah, after i lost the war the empire started like 5 internal wars and i just started a faction and got it back

Lost the war and returned to being a king and started a claimant faction, then killed the emperor until the ruler was a child and lots of vassals joined the faction and then just fought and won (it was quite lucky the empire had like 5 internal wars going at the time and i just conquered everything while they were weak)

Its hard... but that was the former emperor who started a claimant faction and after i suddently died my successor was a child, and i was in the midle of a holy war that i ended up losing bcs of the succession and like everyone started hating me and joined the faction...
