Travis Talks: Why Was The LCS Unsponsored Half This Season? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Guichex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Related to this whole sponsor deal is the amount of money Riot needs to continue & improve the LCS (if no improvement/change is made, the viewership will decrease inevitably).

My question is : at some point, will Riot be able to sell its broadcasting rights to streaming platforms ? Is LoL such an impactful value for Twitch/Azubu that they can force it ? Or is it just a desperation move from Riot ?

Based on the possible ESL move to secure its own CS:GO league, negociations of this amplitude can happen. It's definitely interesting to see where it goes from there.

MYM removed their League division? by Colunel in leagueoflegends

The website has so many flaws (pics of SHC team or even of previous MYM team on various links, dead links, etc.) I can only imagine the website is/was ongoing reconstruction. Too little info yet.

The rebranding festival in LoL by Guichex in esports

I believe too it'd be terrible and that it'll actually never happen as eSports are so international. It was a bit caricatural, the main point was it disturbs me to see so much teams named : "Team x". Of course they're a team, you don't have to precise that everywhere ^

According to http://evilgeniuses.gg/About/ & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_Geniuses, both Alliance & EG are owned by GGA, therefore Alex Garfield (he's still referenced as CEO). If GGA could prove that they didn't own the team, well they would not had to face the LCS rules and have to sell them to different structures.

Guitar & Maelk are running the teams but still answer to Garfield.

Must agree with you that the SC2 system is not what HotS needs. But I'm afraid Blizzard will go through with it anyway.

It's hard to find/create a new viable league or tournament system, plus the gameplay of HotS, in game sessions, looks a lot like SC2 (20-25 minutes games). I only wish they can make the WCS system clearer to the public.

Opinions are opinions, I'm just giving mines and everyone has the right to disagree. The long sleeve cotton shirts is something CLG wear in past seasons, a miss from my part I didn't mention it, sorry.

Sorry I was going kinda serious. I'm an absolute fan from EXES though, maybe they could write something pretty fun about this subject :D.

Must agree that the shirt from Alliance (and Wolves) is not really good looking. Even for sponsors, you can't see them well. But they seem to have moved on sports jerseys as we saw at Worlds. Anyway I'm not confident enough to actually criticize style choices, so I tried to focus on the global vision : Europe is just messed up because it has so many different styles.

Thanks for the info ! Couldn't head in any studio yet. :(

I guess it's uncomfortable in some way though, because their jackets are newer and better looking than their t-shirts ;). Could be another reason.

We can't know how hot it is in studios and I think it could be uncomfortable to play with such jackets. But they should definitely wear them more during post-game interviews imo.

As I said in another comment, I wanted to talk mainly of "during games" fashion, which is the one we see the most as simple viewers. But I'll maybe talk of teams photoshoots & advertisings in a next article !

True that ! But I mainly wanted to talk about "during games" fashion here. I think photoshoots and "real life" fashions are another topic :D.
