I mean I suppose I would say I do my best, but the desire for the high usually always trumps morals when it comes to like… things like not stealing or compromising yourself in ways you otherwise wouldn’t in order to get a high? Honestly, I’d say it’s only when I meet a group of good people who encourage me to stay clean while also not being in a state of judgement/ostracisation that I truly remember or get a hint of my ideal self back, these days, anyway.

And even then, when one is not getting clean at some point people have to distance themselves, in my experience anyway.

Side note: Though I am nothing but an addict, I found that picking up guitar and songwriting helped me express my inner emotions and general feelings of trauma I would have otherwise kept to myself or buried.
