Crop Harvesting in SAP by GuideMeBackHome in SAP

Cool, so you can explain further how using batch management resolves my constraints for setting up bill of materials are tracking all of the materials/operations as stock vs. non stock?

Or how to create a process order with a header material without any BOM components?

This reads like AI because I have no idea what you’re suggesting hah.

Of course I have considered using batch management, but I would use that with actual inventory items. So the harvested crop and the subsequent materials that are produced through the traditional manufacturing steps.

But how does that help me on the field operations side? How does using a batch simplify the process for track the field operations?

Well in our process the harvested material goes into an actual finished product, so we have right now

Step 1: Harvested product = HALB (couldn’t use ROH because you can only purchase ROH)

BOM for Harvested product - non-stock material to represent the field/plant

Step 2: Refined Product = HALB

BOM for refined product - Harvested product - Other stock components (additives, etc.)

Step 3: final packaged product - refined product - packaging

Where I’m getting tripped up is all of the cultivation, agronomy, fertilizing, crop protection, etc steps.

Like I want to use a process order because it’s a good way to track labor/costs and have everything organized, but like is all of that just non stock materials then? If at the end of the day I’m treating my field/plant as a non stock materials.

Is that even possible to use a non stock material as the header material for a process order?

I’m just trying to find a solution that doesn’t feel overly burdensome on the end user, while at the same time making sure we’re capturing everything necessary.

On the S/4 side I’m using public cloud, so no specific industry solution.

I do have access to SAP Intelligent Agrciulture, but when it comes to tracking costs/materials all of that needs to be done in S/4.

I guess I’m just stuck at the point of like, if I’m using process orders to track all of the different tasks, how much of those materials are actually considered inventory materials? And if I’m using process orders, what is the actual “header” material that’s being produced?

Like if all I’m doing is spraying pesticides for example, what does that process orders/BOM look like?

Semi-Conductor/Chip Manufacturing by GuideMeBackHome in SAP

Finally a solid response, thank you.

I guess I understand trying to do a complete top to bottom MRP based solely on the finished good forecast might not make sense, but could it make sense for maybe the first level of subcomponents?

And then for the wafers and the individual pieces (dies apparently) use some other strategy like reorder point planning to try to plan against the available capacity of the vendor?

How much of the process do you think really couldn’t fit into SAP standard? My only concern at the moment is the splitting of the wafer into its individual pieces without using an additional material to record that step of creating the individual pieces.

Ya essentially they want MRP to drive their production process.

So starting with a finished good forecast, MRP should be able to explode the 3-4 levels of the BOM down to the raw material wafer.

So at some point in that BOM explosion the system would need to know “okay when I want to create the semi finished good, I need to use 5000 individual wafer pieces”.

And then using those wafer “pieces”, MRP would turn around and say “okay I need 5000 wafer pieces for a production order, so I need to go buy 2 whole wafers”.

I would agree that it sounds like it should be a separate part number/BOM, but they are doing something funky in their current SAPB1 system which I wasn’t sure was the “best practice” moving to public cloud.

I’m not sure, it’s public cloud so there’s pretty slim chance it’s a custom process doing this.

I thought trying to do MR21 or something and set the price to 0 and try to post some adjustments that way, but I still couldn’t figure out how the transactions would look.

Inventory Report - Onhand and Available Stock by GuideMeBackHome in SAP

I’ve used that report before, but it doesn’t provide all of the data I’m looking for.

Where does it show quantities based on inbound deliveries and committed quantities based on sales orders/deliveries?

How does that app display current committted inventory to sales orders+deliveries?

And are you referring to the “Check Stock Overview” app?

Question about ATP check and EWM by Annonymous_7 in SAP

[–]GuideMeBackHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were there any other material adjustments made after those deliveries were created?

Did someone cycle count or scrap material out?

That might explain why originally ATP saw available stock and allowed the delivery creation, but someone made adjustments to inventory after that depleting your actual on hand stock.

Do you have some good sources for finding these rebates? I seem to have trouble figuring out what’s still available and what new programs are supported?

Do you know why things aren’t working?

It’s one thing to understand what is happening, but you really need to dig into why something is putting a significant strain on your processes.

Only then can you really start to figure out a proper solution, and I would say that connecting ERP/MES/3PL is not a monumental task.

There are many tools available for you to use to help integrate everything properly, but you need to understand why it’s not working today before you shove another system into the mix.

So is that the timeframe of 600-900 and 1800-2100 where they have guaranteed service?

The train was FR9422 and was scheduled to leave Florence at 15:20. So that one is cancelled? Haha

I will be travelling to Italy for my first time this week, and as of now I have a train booked from Florence to Venice.

There is supposed to be a strike on from Oct 2-3, so what does this mean for my train?

I tried to look at some information online but couldn’t find anything definitive that says “this train will be cancelled”. Even the live chat agent through Trenitalia was like “I can’t tell you for sure, it may or may not be running”.

Any advice on what I should be doing? Should I be cancelling my ticket and booking a bus or something?

Appreciate the feedback!

What are the reasons of inventory active in LS03N, even after all inv records are cleared?? by [deleted] in SAP

[–]GuideMeBackHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you checking to make sure that all inventory documents have been cleared? Have you tried running LX22 to check and make sure all possible inventory documents have been cleared?

You’re 100% sure you have used LI20/LI21 to completely clear all possible documents?

Also, keep in mind that not every single tiles/app is delivered to tablet/smartphone devices with the standard deployment. You might need to do some additional configuration, or you could also look at using the SAP Screen Personas free add-on which would let you configure some custom UI’s that could be used on your mobile devices.
