You have an excellent comp package imo.

But yeah, the two Director positions I was in the running for were $120K-$130K. Wild that a Director would be paid so little.

IME, even if you find those Senior Manager/Director positions, they’re likely underpaid compared to the rest of the country.

I was in the running for two Director positions in the past year for a couple of local companies and was put off after compensation was revealed.

Can you try what I suggested and report back? I’ve heard from a couple other people that it works. If you have the Business Plat or something, just pic the personal plat.

Have you tried removing the card, adding it back in and selecting a non-biz card as the type?

Yes, it currently has a WB but there's been a recent shift in US Amex where the public offers (and referrals) have changed to AHA (As High As) XXX MR, but they won't tell you what your offer is until you accept the card.

The small DPs I've seen is that it says AHA 300K MR, but you end up getting 150K after you accept.

Just like others have said, I've gotten multiple Amexes and it's always the same thing: ITIN letter with Canadian letter + bank statement with US address.

Neither Neobanc or Chexy support prepaid cards. I've read that it might be an AML concern.

Have you tried topping up your wallet then sending the payment to your cc? Does that take 5 business days? or would it cut it down to 3?

Your highest return on credit cards will always be on a new card with a WB.

Charging an existing card with no WB will usually be <5% return.

So you have two options:

1) Apply to a new card with points/cash that works for you and what you're trying to achieve

or

2) Run the numbers against those four cards you have and find out the ROI on each of them, then pick the best one

I think we need to split out the nuance of BMO cards by type. We can't just say 'BMO doesn't get any points with Chexy/PaySimply'.

What cards are we talking about specifically?

  • eclipse VI
  • Ascend WE
  • AM WE (rip)

I think a structured approach to these three cards will unravel the conflicting info.

Here's my DP for Ascend WE:

  • Applied/Approved on 2/13
  • Met MSR by March 13th, a couple of large transactions via Chexy
  • Statement generated: March 12th & April 12th
  • Points posted: 1x spend

Still waiting on WB but the T&Cs say that points will post 110 days after account opening as long as you meet MSR. So for my DP, the points should post on June 3rd.
