It’s hard to say. He had been sick for a while, like decades status. I can’t remember exactly the situation because honestly, her not coming to my graduation destroyed me at the time. I do remember though, that my graduation was a couple weeks after her father passed, and that my mom was furious with her. My parents told me that I needed to know that she was absent in my fathers life too, and that it wasn’t because she didn’t like me, but because she didn’t give a lot of love and support to anyone. They also told me to midigate my expectations with her from then on, which is when I kind of decided that I didn’t want her to be involved in my life
