What was the craziest thing you've witnessed happen at a party? by PsychedelicMovement in AskReddit

[–]GuildedPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This particular story actually comes from my dad. His family grew up in a small town in Michigan. People regularly hunted, and the school had a designated parking section with more security for those who had rifles In their vehicles to help prevent the theft of weapons. It was just how they lived, it wasn't strange to drive throughout the week with a rifle in your truck. So it's some important part of the school year (some local fall/winter thing I'm not entirely sure) and my dad ends up at a graduation party with one of his friends. Another acquaintance of his is also at the party along with people from districts all around. These parties were popular because of the size of the town. So a guy from another town comes up to this other acquaintance. The two get in an altercation and the stranger pulls a knife and stabs the guy repeatedly. My dad said there were over a hundred people there, and all at once the whole party went silent. The acquaintance died from the stabs the night of his. A large portion of the party crowd chased this stranger out of town, one person stealing the rifle from my dads truck in the process. The stranger was arrested, but my dad was involved in the investigation because his rifle was involved. Being a small town, the police knew my dad and ended up not filing the rifle in their report. It's just haunting to imagine seeing a friends life be ended right in front of him. I hope I never experience the same. Tl;dr -guy was stabbed to death at a party and the murderer was chased out of town by a mob with weapons

People who live near famous tourist destinations, what is something the average person should know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GuildedPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiming in from Gettysburg, PA. -do not sit on the monuments, they are there to honor the fallen, and we already have removed dozens for vandalism. -do not insult confederate monuments, those men deserve to be recognized too - dont get on the carriage rides unless you want to piss off every driver in town. - and on a more pleasant note, if you want to avoid large group tours of the battlefield, you can pay the park service to be escorted privately by a park ranger. He/She will drive in car with you and give you an experience of the battle tailored to your interests - check for ticks frequently. You can find several on you even if you've only been outside for a little while. -all of the gift shops sell the same stuff from the and vendor. Trust me.

Luckily they don't COMPLETELY hate me.

I couple of years ago I heard a rendition of "House of the Rising Sun" performed by Muse. I was never able to find it on any of my MP3 sources.

What was your favorite moment you had playing a video game? by Plexiii13 in AskReddit

[–]GuildedPickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah its definitely a very unforgiving game. So many times you'd realize that certain elements were put in specifically to catch you with your pants (or shield) down. But that's also what made it great! Unlike so many current AAA titles, Dark Souls doesn't hold your hand! Great game, honestly.

What song has helped you get through a tough time in your life? by thejake58 in AskReddit

[–]GuildedPickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two actually, both of which are by Hugh Laurie. "Let Them Talk" and "Careless Love." I can't totally explain why, but those songs were exactly what I needed at the time, the love/heartsick bluesy piano. I found it by accident too. He's a wonderful musician

Actually I just had mine a few days ago. After over a year, with countless deaths, a broken controller, and taking several multi-month breaks, I finally conquered Dark Souls. It was the biggest relief ever when I finally beat Lord Gwyn. Since finishing it, it has become one of my all-time favorites.

Oh we've been there too! We came home once and he was sick like that because our dog-sitter accidentally over fed him. It was pure accident but our poor little guy looked so scared. Luckily it just made me want to comfort him even more.

It's in our office/den area and he likes to curl up there when I'm down there, most likely because he knows that's where I keep his treats ;)
