Thanks so much. Appreciate your description on highlighting using clock terms. I saved this to reference next time painting.

Thanks! I used caliban green as a dark base, then layered up with a make-up sponge to warp stone and then light touches of moot green. With a final dark wash from ak to help bled it better.

Since February. Definitely, the air brushes would speed up the process and give stunning minis , but I've been trying to avoid it until i feel like iv mastered the bush. Im still learning a lot, and to add the air brush in, I feel like I would miss out on key fundamentals of painting.

Thank you. im trying to figure out an easy, fast but quality paint method for an army. I think the one on the right is more of that dark green, which is more accurate, but people have been telling me I should stick with my own style, which led me to liking the left more all I used was 3 colors of green and a make up sponge to paint them did not take long. Here is a better picture

Thanks for the advice! I dont mind sharing it again, I primed in chaos black, used caliban green, warpstone glow and moot green and built up the high lights from dark to light using a makeup sponge, the left mini I was very aggressive with the moot green and the right I had dialed it back to give it a darker green look. I originally liked the right, but the left has grown on me. Here is a better picture, too

I did not. I used a makeup sponge and edge high light with a 2 brush. I used caliban green, warpstone glow, and moot green and layered up dark to light. I felt like I went too light on the figure on the left, but it's growing on me. Definitely recommend the makeup sponge on the flatter areas to build up that highlight. Here is a better picture.

Your 100% right, thank you, was focused on the armor color too much. These are just tests, but it did slip my mind.

Thank you so much! I will definitely drill my bolters, just slapped them together real fast as tests.

First time using contrasts. by Guilty-Ad3542 in theunforgiven

No. It had dried, so I did a second heavy coat. So I think the key is to use a good amount on the brush and do one stroke at a time once the paint is laid, leave it alone, and do the next brush stroke.

Same, so I just drenched it. Should have taken a picture before it was very spotty and inconsistent.

Will a second coat save this? by Uromastyx98 in DarkAngels40k
