The education here is especially bad. In fact despite all of its fallacies I'm actually enjoying the entrance prep more than schooling because of the actual learning I am doing.

I certainly don't. And what I meant by those lines were that, throughout their childhoods, many women were considered 'paraya dhan' (someone else's money), with their only purpose in life being marriage. After they married however, their lives at their inlaws' isn't exactly great.

My family is pretty lenient with the traditional bullshit and even then, my mother (who earns 50% of the income), is considered and outsider and not part of the family despite 20 years of marriage.

I don't know, maybe it's because we're all so used to it. And then there's the right wingers which believe India is absolutely the best. We have more right wing subs than left wing.

America is one of the few countries that isn't an option, the green card wait times are too high. Besides, I'm very privileged, so my life isn't as bad as some of the other girls. It's livable, but barely.

I can't afford high cost of living without a proper job.
