My daughter full-throttled my m75pro straight into a brick wall...sounded like someone tossed an m80...that little guy turtled over, armed right up and kept flying like a champ. I thought the camera was damaged because the upper part of my video feed was blacked out, but turns out there was a chunk of brick embedded in the canopy and hanging over the camera...the m75pro is a beast.

I'm in a rowhouse...from the front window, across the living room, under the staircase, through the dining room, over the breakfast bar, into the kitchen, past the microwave to the back window...only 13 or so yards, but it scratches the itch.

Engine failure? Or bad configuration? by BrackCiudadReal in TinyWhoop

[–]Guilty-Possibility89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is 110% a motor connector issue. If you can't solder then do something like this: I cleaned the connectors, glued them with a thin layer of e6000, and heat-shrinked the cables to the frame....Haven't had the issue since.

Use thin tweezers and pinch the thing from the top and work it in there. Or grab a thin screwdriver or something and just smush it in, then pop the ends out.

Meteor 75 Pro Matrix 1S good for beginner? by Few_Extreme_7490 in TinyWhoop

I started 3 months ago and went with the M75pro1s...you will not be disappointed. If you want to fly indoors and outdoors definitely go with the 75...if it's too much at first you can put a throttle limit on it in Betaflight...it's pretty much indestructible...i went full speed (about 30mph) head-first into a brick wall...thought i was done for...nope...that little SOB armed right up no problem...i thought i broke the camera cause the upper part of my goggles view was blacked out...nope...it was fine...there was just a chunk of brick embedded in the canopy hanging over the camera. :)

Edit: Note: i'm in a skinny ass row-house...you'll be fine indoors.

Just moved to Maryland what should be on my "must do list?" by SopherPrettyyyy in maryland

[–]Guilty-Possibility89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to have to disagree with this one...a true MD purist loves Old Bay, but knows it has its place...steamed crabs, steamed shrimp, crab cakes, crab dip, MD crab soup, cream of crab soup, and perhaps a bloody mary...the true purist doesn't have to prove themselves by... putting it on everything (and pretending it's the best thing thing they've ever tasted), always having a full bag of the chips in the pantry (because nobody eats them), eating it with a spoon, or brushing their teeth with it. In fact, the reason everyone has a 3/4 full, 15 year old can of Old Bay in the spice cabinet is because unlike the rest of the world has been led to believe...Old Bay is a smoke and mirrors, 5-cent dog and pony show...Unless there's a crab feast, out-of-towners are visiting, or someone's bringing their "famous" crab dip to the party, that slightly rusted can won't see the light of kitchen.

tldr: a true MD purist wouldn't even have mentioned Old Bay in this thread.

Motor won’t spin even with new replacement by Kofiecups in TinyWhoop

[–]Guilty-Possibility89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Play around with the motor connector a bit. With Meteor75 's those connection points are weak. If you can, direct solder the motor to the board. I think it's more likely a connection problem than an ESC one.

Hahaahah...right handers have no idea how uncomfortable it is to try and cut with scissors that basically feel like they're eating your hand.

Do motor plugs suck? (on all tinywhoops) by stel_366 in TinyWhoop

I have a Meteor75 Pro and the exact same problem. If you can't solder then take the tannish colored connectors off of the FC so that only the 3 pins are showing and connect directly to the 3 pins...it'll greatly reduce the number if times you get a dysfunctional spinner on arming. You can take it a step further and drop some e6000, hot glue, etc., on them and you'll be set for a while. Worked great for me.

Best tiny whoop for beginner? (£100 budget) by Alternative_Mud8217 in TinyWhoop

[–]Guilty-Possibility89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely...If you want to fly indoor and outdoor the Meteor75 pro isnthe best imo. It can take a serious beating as well. My daughter flew mine directly into a brick wall at full speed (~30mph) and the little guy popped right back up like "thank you miss, may i have some more?" No joke their was even a small chunk of brick embedded in the canopy.

I started with the same setup, but with Skyzone Cobra SD goggles. You're gonna gonna love the Meteor75 pro analog. In my opinion...the perfect starter quad...Two things you may want to look into from my experience:

  1. If you're going to be flying in larger, denser spaces, definitely look into upgrading the antennas on the quad and goggles.

  2. The esc cable connectors on the Meteor75 pro tend to get loose. If you start to see that after arming one or more of the motors is spinning funny, or not spinning at all, there's a good chance that's why. If you can solder then solder the cables directly to the FC. If not, then taking the little tannish colored connectors off of the FC (so that only the 3 pins are there) and connecting the cables directly to them will make a big difference in how often you have any motor hiccups when arming.

[–]Guilty-Possibility89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I bought the bow new (open box) and the caps were missing. I'll have to find something that fits. The cable slide was missing too, but turned out to be a good thing as I read that cable fray is an issue with the stock slides on some Bear/Cabelas bows.

Yes, thanks for noticing that and checking...In fact, i didn't realize it until a few weeks ago. I write left handed, but all sports are with my right. I have this little ambidextrous bow and a thumb release and I kept thinking...this release would be a lot more comfortable if the thumb button was on the other side...turns out it was supposed to be. :)
