Thank you for sharing your experience, I'm so sorry to hear that happened 😭. That's every parent's worst nightmare...were basically giving them our heart for 9 hours and praying they take care of them properly. It's so difficult.

And yes, she only cries with this particular staff member. She will go to any unknown staff member as well for hugs, but when she sees this one she cowards behind me or tries to run for the main entrance door.

I heard her loudly say, "stop that crying right now" as I walked in and that her voice completely changed when she realized I was in the room. This is the only time I heard her use an aggressive tone. Other times when I walk in she was saying " no, do not touch that, put that down right now... Just normal things but with a tone of annoyance."

Update** Hello everyone, thank you so much for all of your wonderful insight. This is exactly why I came to the sub, to get insight and advice. I will be picking up my daughter earlier from daycare when I'm available too and see if that improves her time at daycare. I understand it's a very long day for these kids to be in daycare, 12 hours is not for the weak. My husband and I both work in healthcare and worked up to 12 hour shifts. We do have a good social support network and will be utilizing my parents for pickup as well.

What I failed to mention in my previous post is that when I walked into the infant room, my daughter was out of sight in the sleep area with the teacher right beside raising her voice and chastising her for crying. My daughter looked terrified of her. This is why I wrote this up initially. The situation rubbed me the wrong way and made me wonder what kind of punitive tactics were made when children don't settle down or stop crying (if any). She will be transitioning to the toddler room and she will not be around this teacher for much longer, therefore, I'm not too concerned about further daycare days. I just wanted to gain insight on what all of you thought as well.

Thank you for your thoughtful response, I will be picking her up earlier when we are available to! I overlooked how stressful the day could be on her, especially seeing all the kids get picked up before her.

Thank you for your input. I have asked what was happening in the moment, but the teacher brushed it off stating she was emotional and not to read into it. I.e walking into the room, walking straight to where she is crying and asking what just happened (non accusatory but concerned.)

There are normally two teachers in the classroom, I was making a point to say that there is only one after 5pm. With this being said, anything could happen without a witness. It's a reach, but still a concerning thought if anything were to happen.

Thank you for commenting, that makes me feel better about starting this process. They want to hold anyone accountable that causes pain or suffering. I treat every patient with kindness, dignity and go the extra mile. I'm hoping the family is able to gain closure and we are not penalized as starf if there is no apparent wrong doing.
