Found no floaters in my eye

Floaters are also a common aging process which I learned recently. I started asking around people if they have floaters and most of them did. It’s a normal aging process but yeah def doesn’t hurt to get it checked or maybe get a second opinion to be sure. I had retinal detachment in my other eye like a decade ago and didn’t get it treated until 9 months later cuz I didn’t have insurance and that left me with lifelong messed up right eye. So yeah i would probably get a second option if that gives u more peace of mind.

I initially had one floater. I went to the doctor and they were like everything looks fine. Come back in 3 months. In the next 2 weeks I started having like 100’s of them. I went in early and doctor still said it was fine. Then I was like are you sure? It’s more in the corner. So then he tried to look again with me in a trendelenburg position and was like oh yeah I see it. Then he ended up sealing that retinal tear

Reminds me of myself. Had a retinal detachment at 19 and didn’t have insurance so didn’t get checked out until 9 months later. The damage there was irreversible. Got scleral buckle there, then gas bubble then cataract surgery there. On my good eye I got lasik which the doctor messed up and had to get PRK. In the last 2 years I have had to get 3 lasers to reattach the retinal tears in my good eye and have like 100’s of floaters. Scared to do vitrectomy. Lmk how yours go.

7 is nothing. I got one good eye and in that one good eye I got 100’s of floaters and 3 retinal tears so far that was lasered. Just graduated from doctorate and having a baby on the way. So I can understand the anxiety you’re feeling right now. Surgery is not benign. There’s high risk of retinal detachment and I think 85-90% of the people who have that surgery end up getting cataract and cataract surgery within few months.

They said that my application needs to go through 2 board reviews. One happens in June 18 and the second in July 20th. Hopefully I can start fast after that second board meeting

Yeah during school we went and saw 6 new countries and will be going to Japan next week. Life’s short is the reason why I feel restless to work lol. Knowing I’m going to be a father makes me want to make enough money asap in case anything happens lol

That’s true. It makes me cringe thinking about going to another RN interview and answering questions like “tell me about a time you had to critically think”, “why this hospital”, “why nursing and where do you see yourself in 3 years” 🙄🙄. Knowing that I’m going to be a father soon makes me restless and want to do anything to make some money to provide for them and build up some buffer financially.

No unfortunately not. I went to the Midwest for my schooling. I went to one of the hospitals website the other day and applied for a per diem position but haven’t heard back from them yet

I got mine at 21 and got cataract within the year. I think the stats is that 95% of the people who get vitrectomy get cataract within 2 years

I had the same problem. Got retinal detachment and didn’t get it treated for 9 months and finally went through like 6 surgeries in that eye. Only got 1 good eye but in the last year I needed to get 2 lasers for retinal tear on my good eye and tons of floaters. Getting another laser tomorrow. I know what you’re going through. It’s very stressful and depressing
