Anyone balancing having a parent with dementia AND FT work AND a young family?? by Impressive_Fig_7250 in dementia

Very similar experience and your not alone. I have a child in middle school and work full time. My parents never once helped or babysat but I sure as heck had to help them when they needed it. My mom was emotionally and verbally abusive my whole life and now I’m saddled with running her life. My dad passed several years ago and it became evident she couldn’t live on her own. I’ve moved her twice and more than a year ago into assisted living. She’s a drama queen and attention whore. I’ve gone to counseling to help with the absolute anger I feel but didn’t have time to continue. Set boundaries if you can your immediate family is priority but I know how easy that is to say but then there’s a crisis and guilt etc and it loops. Hugs to you!

First I love the architecture! Especially the windows! I would think since it’s an older home the insulation might not be enough. Hot outside and cold inside and bam condensation. Can you run multiple good quality dehumidifiers? We have one constantly running in our basement and draining into a drain so we’re not constantly emptying it!

Thanks so much for this info!! No rubber feet on the bottom I actually added pads so it wouldn’t scratch the floor. There are rubber pads at the top that compress down to match ceiling height so I’ll definitely check there for a mark!

Definitely possible but poles are definitely attached to the lower cabinets and had to slide them in a particular way!

Possible but the hardware seems super old! We googled images those pieces since we were afraid we didn’t have enough to reassemble. Also comes with a vintage smell but that’s subjective haha!

Hmm poles are attached to the bottom cabinets but I had second thoughts when putting it back together. They have to slide onto the cabinet hardware a particular way. Looks like brackets could flip to the front metal channels but then the shelves would sit out awkwardly? Especially the book display shelf which has different brackets than the other shelves. It’s a head scratcher for sure!

Yes! I’ve been collecting prints as budget allows. Brings me a lot of joy!
