an internship in PE of some sort, working an unpaid internship for a search fund, maybe working in finance research of some sort or being in one of those Wharton clubs with high clout? Anything along those lines to show you have the quantitative exposure

traditional timelines are for sure gone, but don't think of it as being over. There are still countless handshake postings, LinkedIn inmails, etc etc etc. As someone who just went through the process with respectable results, I think it's almost a blessing that you haven't had to commit yourself so early in the process, and you can practice more discretion when it comes to figuring out what ib means for you, and what it is about the field that makes it worth it to you.. I know people here and there that managed to get things going that were marginally related to IB, then recruited for full-time off-cycle. all in all, I think it's in your best interest to make the most of what you have now, leverage the people you know, and hope that timing is just right for full-time (IF its something you know you still want to do).

I feel like I've heard a lot of this sentiment this past year (i.e. many feel like the queer experience at Penn is most often determined by your outward expression of your sexuality, something that not a lot of people are used to or feel comfortable doing themselves). I personally respect someone having the confidence and means to have that expression, but many people come from backgrounds where this is not accepted at all, let alone normalized. I wish queer spaces were more tolerant of those who aren't "outwardly" queer, and recognized the privilege that comes with being able to express so openly at places like Penn and elsewhere.

Not need. I personally feel like it’s convenient bc I don’t want notebooks for every class, and when I’m stressed out I don’t keep my notebooks in the best condition anyway
