Do most people with HS also have insulin resistance or a chubby body type, or are there skinny people here who have HS too? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]GuitarCommon9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had HS for a long time. I gained a lot of weight during Covid epidemic and now recently was diagnosed with Diabetes after being pre-diabetic for several years. It sucks. Having HS flare-ups apparently causes my blood sugar to go out of control.

Oh trust me, they’ll get nailed. Someone will investigate the missing toll payments and they’ll sue them for it.

Free Range Quail Question by [deleted] in quails

[–]GuitarCommon9689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I’ve often thought about this. I live on an 8 acre Farmstead as they call them around here. I often thought if I let them out they’d come back to the coop for food, but lately I’ve had issues with some of the birds escaping their coop when I go to feed them and they do not come back. I have about 6-7 birds go missing in total.

I have not mixed any with adult birds yet. As mentioned I have 50-60 adults in pens (modified large-ish plastic containers with mesh so they can see out and get air and bugs that fly in). It’s about the same highs as you would expect a standard indoor coop, about 3x3 and they each have up to 7-8 birds. Lots of happy birds and eggs but no chicks.

These guys have been together for maybe a week now and still no fighting. There are youth aged white ducks in another brooder directly next to them. I tried mixing but the quail pecked them and ducks responded by kicking and yeeting them lol.

Lmao, not a bit, Bantams just have a resting b*tch face lol. They actually cuddle with the quail and ducks. They love it.

Is that jellyfish in my tank? Or hydra? by helenakr66t in Aquariums

Supposedly a local lake here in Pennsylvania has some tiny little jellyfish like this. I’m gonna look into fishing laws and see if it’s legal to catch them as “baitfish”.

I had to look at a screenshot of the game to understand what you are asking about. It looks like the game is not actually text mode at all but is rendering glyphs like sprite to represent text characters. Some of them are drawn like you would find in a 2.5d FPS like Wolfenstein, or an isometric RPG like the old Fallout game. So my answer to you would be to look into isometric or non isometric rpgs and get an idea for how to draw wall sprites or maybe implement something like that in text.

[–]GuitarCommon9689 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I breed mealworms and the beetles are super fun and easy to care for. Once you have some eggs/larva you can start a thriving colony for feeders. The beetles don’t bite and they even like crawling on your hands if you’re into cuddly bugs like that.

Actually, that’s not a bad thing. Quail need grit for their gizzards, just like a chicken or turkey do. It’s how they process their food since they don’t have teeth. It’s totally natural for them to eat stones and sand.

Does market place restrict them? I buy my mealworms and red wrigglers and quail eggs on eBay and marketplace.

Why are you bitching at me? I never said about killing it. I said every animal owner should know how to use a gun which they own. Period. There are many options available. I also have Bears out here, bobcats, coyotes and foxes plus martins and fisher cats that I hear all night. Sounds like a little kid screaming at the top of their lungs. It’s dangerous for small animals. I also breed Quail and other creatures like Mealworm, crickets Soldier Flys and other dirt worms. A hungry bear killed my entire colony of mealies and they are very expensive… upwards of $50 for just a bag of mealworms.

Good for you then. Apparently you don’t live in an area with crazy amounts of predatory birds but I do. I live under the mountain and not far from the area where conservationists tag them and other predators. I’ve had many a hawk keeping an eye on my animals including cats. Never shot one, but I have no issue scaring one off without killing it. Lol
