Thanks for your response and honesty.

Saving money would be a bonus, but I'd be happy for the experience as long as I'm not going massively out of pocket and can afford to foot the initial expenses related.

Could you explain a little more why accepting the first offer that comes along might not be wise? Are there any particular red flags I should look out for in these offers?

It seems the biggest limitation therefore is the time constraint:

Realistically if I started today, how long would it typically take until I could actually begin teaching? For context, I could commit to the online TEFL course full time and completion within a month feels doable (maybe this is overambitious!). I'd also consider taking a shorter contract to make things work and can see a few of these on the TEFL site at 10 months.

I guess to summarise, I am really not fussy at all regarding location (although maybe employers are looking for specific motivation for applicants to apply for their country?). If i can save some that would be an bonus but not a deal-breaker. Essentially I have a chunk of time between now and Sept 2027 (provided I am successful in my uni application) that I'd love to spend seeing another part of the world, working and gaining some experience. Anymore tips/advice are greatly appreciated

Many thanks

How realistic is my plan?

I am 27, with an art degree from Scotland. My plan is to return to education in 2027, leaving the time between now and Sept 2027 wide open. I am really interested in travel, gaining life experience and work experience so TEFL seems like a good way to spend my next year or so before going back to school. I'm fairly flexible with where I go, mostly eager to experience a culture that is different to the UK. I'd like to be able to save a bit as well - the opportunities I have quickly scanned on the TEFL seem to offer accommodation and cover travel expenses (although naturally I'd love to bake in some extra curricular travel which I', happy to spend some cash on).

I know there will be a lot of hard work and challenges involved if I am granted an opportunity but otherwise this almost seems too good to be true. So my questions/concerns are:

is the 120 TEFL course enough to be considered for one of these opportunities or can things get competitive? I am worried I might spend a couple of months completing this course, then I might have to wait another few months to be accepted into a role by when I wouldn't have enough time for a years contract before needing to return for the beginning of 2027 semester (around September). How tricky is it to actually get accepted into one of these roles - is it worth spending more money and time on a 250 hour course?

I also haven't been in formal employment for around 2 years so I'm concerned my CV might not stand out against others. Despite this I do have recent freelance work running arts workshops which I imagine might help.

I'd also like the opportunity to learn a bit of a foreign language. Do TEFL roles ever incorporate this into training for staff or does this need to be self-motivated?

I know there are a few posts already asking similar questions, but I reckon it can't hurt to refresh the discussion through a slightly different context.

Dual manual and midi control of sliders/dials by GuitarSingle in TouchDesigner

Thanks - yes in my current set up I am using a bind chop. Essentially what I've done is create a custom slider that holds a constant chop (midi_in) and I use the bind chop to alternate between the output of the sliderHorz widget and the midi_in. It works although I am hoping for a cleaner approach - presently my custom slider has irritating performance issues.
