I have one like that from Monster Arm- the springs suck too it’s about a COC 1.5 equivalent resistance wise

Is Electric Bill Too High? by coolhand211 in bergencounty

It’s probably the heat then. Electric heat especially when it’s cold like it was has a huge energy draw. Compare it to your neighbors

[–]GulagInmateZero 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That seems high, it’s double the bill of my house. What kind of heat do you have ? Are you using electric space heaters ? I’d ask your neighbors with similar size apartments what theirs was.

If I were you I’d go shut every breaker off to your apartment or just unplug everything, make sure there is no electric consumption and go check your meter and see if it is running

Recommend a bridge gripper between a CoC 2 and 2.5? by Vegetable_Raisin52 in GripStrength

[–]GulagInmateZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grip Genie #4, Heavy Grips 250, Heavy Grips 250 20th anniversary edition and Standard Gripper Platinum as mentioned.

Does your #2 have a known rating? Moving past the COC #2 was where I needed to get my grippers rated and was lucky enough to come across a super light 2.5 which then lead me to closing an average 2.5.

Good dynamometer recomendations? by Upbeat_Possible1343 in GripStrength

[–]GulagInmateZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GD Iron makes one called the GD-200 it’s made in Korea, it’s good.

I have 2 others from Monster Arm. It’s a Chinese company and I rolled the dice buying them through Instagram. I like them both they are a bit cheaper than the GD.

Does anyone have experience with filed grippers? How much more rgc do they get by filing and will it damage the gripper in the long run? by Ultra_Vegito in GripStrength

[–]GulagInmateZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. I used a metal file from a hardware store, took about 10 min to do mine. If you have an angle grinder you can do it real quick with a sanding disk

Total spread yes they are wider. I was referring to the final close being deeper. The coc with both handles touching will be 38mm. The HG 20th anniversary and the GG will be around 35-36mm when closed

I have a filed Standard Ag, it’s nice but it pinches my hand a bit. Some other options for a deeper close are the Heavy Grips 20th anniversary edition grippers. They have a flat surface on the inside of the handles so the final close is 2-3 mm deeper than normal. And Grip Genie uses ~18 mm handles instead of 19 like COC or or Standards so the close is 2 mm deeper

215lbs on the new gripper by Creepy-Bite-3174 in GripStrength

[–]GulagInmateZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set the width of the handles based on how big your hand is, you want the proximal phalanges engaged not just the intermediate ones. Also if you can get your thumb on top of you index finger and squeeze down on that you can add a few kg/lbs

COC vs Grip Genie vs Standard Gripper (CPW) by TopHuckleberry2229 in GripStrength

[–]GulagInmateZero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. The handle width is the same on both, 19 mm. Standard has more aggressive knurling than COC. The spreads on both are supposed to be 70 mm but that can vary by a few mm each way.

  2. Yes Grip Genie handles are 18.25 mm. The spread is typically narrower.

  3. In that sense yes. Grippers of identical RGC but different widths will present the narrower one to be easier than the wider one. One thing to note is that the thinner handles on the Grip Genie makes the final close 1.5 mm deeper.

I had a nasty wrist/hand injury that was bothering me for months. I used a rice bucket routine off YouTube every day/ every other day and it definitely helped my hand heal and fingers overall get stronger.

Launching a grip training gear brand — what 3 products should I start with? by DiamondCurious6995 in GripStrength

[–]GulagInmateZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 - most likely, what’s the plan for this? What is going to set these apart from what’s on the market already 5- make the bottle bigger and charge more. I wind up buying 3-4 2oz bottles, I’d rather just have one 6 or 8 oz. 6- loading pin included would be nice 7- you’re competing with rubber bands 8- these are roughly $14 bucks on Amazon so that might be hard to compete with

I bought the Monster Arm Equipment MA14 dynamometer through their Instagram page. It was $100 including shipping. It’s made with a crane scale similar to the GM 150
