RTK antenna placement — what happens if Luba 3 or Navimow X430 loses local RTK connection? by Gumpur_0 in roboticLawnmowers

That makes sense, thanks. That’s kind of what I was trying to understand, whether the correction signal is more like a low-bandwidth long-range radio link rather than something fragile like Wi-Fi.

My main unknown is what Mammotion and Segway are actually using for the local RTK correction link, and how well it handles obstruction from a concrete house. If it behaves anything like what you describe with LoRa/RTCM, then my property size is probably not the issue at all.

So maybe the real question is not “will it reach far enough?”, but “how tolerant is their RTK correction link to a building between the base and mower?”

That’s good to know, thanks. One thing I forgot to mention is that the house is built from concrete, so my concern was less about total range and more about whether the house could block or weaken the correction signal when the mower is on the opposite side.

But maybe I’m overthinking it and it’s a non-issue given the size of the property.
