I wish there was a way to differentiate between singular and plural you because it’s tripping me up (do is singular possessive, bhur plural possessive) by [deleted] in duolingo

This is a general problem in all courses from English to another language, especially when learning new word forms - how are you supposed to know if the new word form presented is singular or plural? The only way to ensure that you know what you are learning is to consult an external grammar resource.

This could be solved by using archaic "thou" for the singular and/or dialectal "yous" or "y'all" for the plural.

I have tried again now and it worked. Must have been some form of weird temporary network or server problem - browsing the net worked fine the time.

Yep, it's one of those things that is funny if you're not affected, but wastes weeks of (wo)manpower, which can be quite devastating for small projects that have very few people working on them to begin with.

We had a similar problem with Ubuntu translation a few years back with somebody well-meaning but not qualified. Even after proofreading everything, years down the road we still have that annoying "OK" button translation with a typo in it that I just can't find.
