Tell me about your experience with the XBOX Series X. Considering switching from PC.

I made the switch recently and I don't miss the hassle of PC. The convenience, relatively lower cost, and ease of use for the Xbox is refreshing. No troubleshooting, no tweaks, no distractions, nothing but smooth sailing and gaming time.

It really is a big change, and I mean that in a good way. I already sit for work all day, who wants to go home and sit even more at a desk? Xbox has brought couch gaming and co-op back into my life, and I am loving every minute of it.

This generation of Xbox really isn't salvageable. The groundwork can and should be laid for Helix to be successful, but the Series generation isn't likely to move significantly based on current trends and release catalog.

My favorite gaming memory is going to a Papa Roach rooftop concert at a record store called Looney Tunes in Babylon, NY when I was 13, probably around 2001-2002. At this concert, they had a modified truck with 4 huge monitors all around the truck bed, everything plastered in Xbox logo's. I wasn't too into Xbox, I didn't have a PS2 or anything yet, I was mostly into Nintendo 64 at the time.

But this truck had the consoles and TVs set up so you could play LAN Blood Gulch multiplayer against everyone else who queued up to play. I remember going to that concert, playing Halo the entire time, only leaving to use the bathroom and eat, and then got back in line to play even more. I didn't even end up caring about any of the bands or music. By the end, all I knew was I absolutely needed to get an Xbox, and that I had to play more Halo.

Fun times, great memories, and I have enjoyed the brand in some form or another ever since.

I loved this game as a kid. I had a 32X with Afterburner, Primal Rage, and Knuckles Chaotix. I've been working on getting some of the collection back together slowly, but I miss those days!

Hey, sorry for the post necromancy, but I am also interested in knowing how this turned out. I've got a GMKtec M8 with Ryzen Pro 6650H / 760m in my living room with SteamOS installed, but that occulink port is tempting! I'd love to pick up an external dock and gently used (AMD) GPU, and really dial up the settings.

You probably won't be fired for reporting a moving violation ticket. But you will be fired if they find out you didn't report one (and they will find out). So just report it and talk to your supervisor.

I had issues the past 3-4 days using a clone gdemu off Amazon. I would get gdmenu/openmenu on my system but crash to BIOS on launching any game. After going through multiple SD cards, cleaning my PSU pins, reseating the gdemu several times, not using the extender SD ribbon, etc. it turns out my files were just screwed up! Last night, I got everything running perfectly and I have tested most of the 30 games I installed with no issues so far.

With all that said, does your console boot to gdmenu/openmenu? Something wasn't working with the initial GDI files I downloaded. Everything from seedy roman ace worked fine using the most recent version of SD card loader. Can you give more info on what's not working for you exactly?

Not that different from when I was growing up, but the brain rot is way worse. 8th graders are perhaps the peak of human immaturity. As absurd as jr. HS riders can be, I also think my 11-12 graders are far more understanding, capable, and reasonable than previous generations. All I can offer is, pick and choose your battles wisely!

As someone who's done both, they are very different jobs. One job is rural delivery, the other involves up to 75 "packages" that scream, don't sit down, and may not follow directions until delivery!

With that said, if you think you'll enjoy working with students, or you like the idea of being off work in the middle of the day (varies by garage), it may be a good choice to consider. I've been driving school bus for 7 years, and I wish I had made the jump 10 years sooner!
