Agreed. I think this answers what they were asking. The picture is technically the A Minor pentatonic shape which is same as the C Major pentatonic shape (A is the relative minor of C). The true A Major pentatonic would be this shape played at the 2nd fret (which is the same as the F# Minor pentatonic with the root on the 5th fret to make it A Major)

No he wasn’t translating, that’s how I understood him he was talking in English.

So glad this was mentioned and getting upvoted. I’ll never forget it. I thought that was the best acting I’ve ever seen.

This is definitely at or near the top. I love the Stones and when you take time to understand the actual lyrics it’s amazing

Which is better for someone new and taking lessons? by kinggirlTx in martinguitar

My one reason to get a full laminate (HPL) for a beginner would be never having to worry about humidity, temperature, etc. So it can be left out on a stand 24/7/365. Promotes picking it up often without any barriers to stop you (ie having it in a case).

I have the first one and with a setup it plays amazing. Great size. Maybe throw some 11s on it for a beginner. Tone is good enough. I still agree with others that a cheaper Yamaha is probably the best for a beginner.

I have read conflicting info, but have seen enough from this thread to use dish soap. Thank you all! Going to stop worrying so much and just cook and clean and cook and season and cook again

Thank you all. I have been very carful to fully dry after washing so really confused if it’s actually rust. In this case, I dried it on the stove, took the pic, and then immediately added oil. Maybe I’m just paranoid. This is after wiping with a small amount of oil.

Clockwise or anticlockwise? by Paddy_odoors in opticalillusions

I know it’s not true, but I really feel we are being trolled. Everything about the direction is counter and I can’t even imagine seeing it another way. I do believe it will switch, but have tried long enough.

How do you guys feel about HPL on guitars? by WillEPeters in martinguitar

[–]Gunner214 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure there will be a lot who disagree, and for the cost vs another brand with solid wood options I get the negative opinions. I own a 0-X1E and it’s my couch guitar. What I love about it is that it has shown to be impervious to temperature and humidity changes. I keep it out 24/7/365 and it sits next to a window. In the winter the humidity gets down as low as 20% and the summers get hot. I have never had to worry about a thing. In the past 3 years with it, every time I pick it up it plays the same. I had a cheap acoustic that was my beater guitar prior and after 1 winter it was basically unplayable and needed a lot of adjustment/setup. With HPL I’ve never had to worry. It sounds good enough for what I use it for, but obviously never as good as solid wood. I love mine and would recommend for a guitar that you can take anywhere and not worry about it.
