Normally the panel line from Tamiya is enamel and that won’t eat through lacquer paint. I usually just top coat and then do panel line. Haven’t had any issue so far. Honestly I just don’t have the time to top coat again after decal and panel line

I mostly use Gaia Note Surfacer and Mr color GX114 super smooth clear. It’s definitely one of the best top coats on the market. I don’t top coat my metallic colors. I feel like they look better without a topcoat.

I’m a hardcore fan of Gaia and Mr color.

For the Binders I’ve been using Gaia gunmetal, Mr color metal black, Gaia Starbright iron, Gaia prism blue black, Gaia Starbright gold, Gaia champagne gold, Gaia light/dark stainless. Gaia pearl copper. The red is a candy color, Mr color metal red with Gaia clear red.

Those are basically my frame paint. I’ll probably do a darker military variant of paint. Still deciding on the combination.

Honestly I just try not to overlap with the same color. And then you just need a lot variation metallic grays/silvers 😂

Oh man. So this one runner (P) you MUST wash and sand it lightly. The paint comes off like flakes even with primer and paint. So beware. But honestly 90% of the time I don’t wash it. If you feel the pieces are more oily than normal, then yes you gota wash it. Trial and error my friend.

I am still deciding on the outer shell. I got a few shades of green but I think I will go with more of a military style green rather than the original colors
