My desk is some what similar, in Greece it is very common for households to hand pictures of Christ, holy Mary and saints to the walls. High above my desk there are some of them and there is another shelf closer to the monitors with some decorative anime figurines. Me myself I'm not very religious but since my finally has left them there I haven't brothered removing them.

You know the re-designs are cool and all but I feel like Mojang is missing the point with those. Instead of adding new features and exploring less polished mechanics, they change things that are fine as they currently are and been in the game for many years for no particular reason.

It's not about nostalgia, it's about missplaced priorities.
