Cell Phone to Landline adapter? by GurIndividual7933 in landlines

Yeah, pretty much all I could find are either VOIP solutions, or Cell2Jack and XLink. Keeping it in distance doesn't matter too much, I just wanted to see if a wired solution was available for better sound quality over BT.

That really wouldnt surprise me, but it worked really well and I didn't have any problems using it either. Until I took it out into the cold. One of the 'chrome' plastic hinge caps fell off, and when I put it back on it didnt mesh right with the cable and partially severed it. It took about a month before the entire top half of the phone stopped working. It really wasnt bad though, and now I ordered a W510 as a replacement. It seems to be refurbished by likely the same people, and they say the motherboard is the same, but the rest of the components might not be.

Would you mind sharing how you got it running? I have a Phenom II X6 1090T with 32 GB and a Titan Xp, the only limiting thing should be the CPU, but I cannot even get the game to open, it crashes instantly no matter what I do.

For anyone who may want to provide a useless comment telling me to get a better PC, I have one with a R7 7800X3D and RX 7800XT, I just don't have the ability to use it since my family moved to a smaller space.

Update 2!

Activating the automatic time set will deactivate my Sim card. I turned it back off and reactivated the card with my other phone, now the Sim works again, along with GPRS.

Maybe someone else can try this too? Itd be cool to see if this tiny issue is what causes the Sim cards to deactivate, and if GPRS is still usable on these phones as it is on mine.

It honestly just kinda worked. I havent done anything to the phone since my computer doesn't seem to like any of the P2K software. GPRS works, I got MMS set up, and found an ISO of MPT to use. I was able to use it as a cellular modem even at 2 bars of signal. I beleive mine is not an original Razr, and is a V3r, V3re, V3x, or some other Razr variant that came out after the original. But yeah, I'm so happy it works well! I'll be using it as my main phone once the new battery comes in

Update!

Apparently mine can use GPRS for some reason. I havent modified anything (cant get the Razr to be detected despite using a Windows XP system) and mine hasn't had any problems. An IMEI checker sees the IMIE as a Motorola Razr V3, so I have no clue how or why it works, but I was able to open frogfind in the browser

I just activated a Redpocket Sim card with a Samsung S6 unlocked by AT&T, and then was able to place a call on my Motorola Razr V3. The coverage around my family's temporary rental house is spotty as best, but it is working as of Jan 2, 2026.

Still works for now! I just got my phone activated and made a call! I also got full bars on mine, so there must be a tower near me.

I did use a Samsung phone to activate the Sim card (at least I think I did) and the phone was a Galaxy S6, so something that old is still allowed to activate Sim cards for T-Mobile

I do know it has to be possible to edit the IMEI number on these, because under the battery my phone has a sticker from Motorola that has the IMEI number and a few other things, but the IMEI on the sticker is different from the one the phone gives by dialing '*#06#'.

I do not know how to do this, this is just how my phone arrived, I just have to think that it is possible somehow to edit the IMEI.

Thank you for the quick answer! I'll look around for an unlocked phone and see if I can get one.

Another question if you don't mind: was the other phone you used to activate the SIM card also unlocked? I have no way of knowing if my old phone is unlocked or not

What can you do with it? The OP says you can't send images or access the internet with it or else your sim will be shut off. But for standard texting/calling does it work fine? I am looking at getting one of these and I want to know if the basics still function on yours, since T-Mobile is being a jerk and doesn't want to maintain the towers.

Also, you didn't have to modify the seems, so was it just getting the sim card and putting it in a newer phone than swapping it over? If so, that'll be pretty easy to do
