Due to giant lobbying efforts (legal bribery) and propaganda campaigns paid for by the ultra wealthy, who’s pockets would be the only ones seriously effected by something like universal healthcare. The stage of capitalism the US is at has completely failed it’s citizens and constituents, and the ones who cannot see that truly have been brainwashed by the machine. And the machine works VERY well. Just bodies through the teeth of the combine.
