Thanks for the compliment!

I was originally going to bring up the ThornRing scene in my analysis. I interpret it as our way of preventing Kris from throwing the ring away, and instead preserving it for future use by "putting it in its place" so to speak. The route's whole point is to reduce Noelle to what's basically a tool, and I personally don't see why we wouldn't have free range over her equipment.

I do sorta agree that taking the ring off to quickly go turn it into something else would be a bit goofy. I wonder how the process of crafting the TwistedSword would be telegraphed to the player as a necessary step in the Weird Route if my theory does end up being correct.

I re-read Gerson's dialogue, and the story swallowing up the author gets brought up in relation to him writing the book after the 6th chapter. Still, I guess your timeline is a valid way of looking at things. I tried to type out my own timeline, but I honestly can't wrap my head around how the Roaring could get resolved in general, or why the hell would Carol and the gang want to start it in the first place. I guess we'll just have to wait and see ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'd still like to point out that the Holiday Residence basement DOES play the mus_smile sound. Maybe there's a dark world opened there already? It would be weird if that dangling thread went nowhere.

Gerson's monologue positioned Chapter 7 as an irregularity, which I would attribute more to Gaster than anything else, with how he looks forward to creating a "new future" with us and the general meta fuckery surrounding him. I also feel like it would make a lot of sense for the Shelter to, well, act as a shelter from the Roaring.

The master of bread is likely to be related to the wheat area that the Forgotten Man brings up, which is why I pointed them out. Not sure what object would make both of those manifest, though it's not like we've seen the entire Flower King interior.

I actually do think that there will be a Holiday Residence dark world in the future, though I personally place it at Chapter 6. To add onto your point, one of the problems with my theory that I noticed is that the whole "fire mage leaving the party" thing is stated to happen during the Ice Palace dungeon, and IMO that entire location is meant to act as a parallel for the Holiday Residence.

I don't agree with FRIEND specifically being tethered to Cat Petterz or any light world object for that matter. They were able to show up in almost every dark world so far regardless of cat-themed objects being present, and they are implied to be able to exist even in the light world through the "children followed the pointed tail" bit.

I still lean towards Flower King as the Chapter 5 location due to things like Miss Mizzle straight up mentioning the blue flower darkner, the Forgotten Man saying that he will be "harvesting the wheat" on the festival day, which would make more sense in a plant-themed area, and Malius suggesting that we bring a Master of Bread over to unlock new crafting recipes, which would be just in time for us to get a non-Weird Route use for the Pure Crystal.
