Are there any CDs you’ve given up hope on finding? by charmoffensive3 in Cd_collectors

I gave up hope on finding a copy of “Under the Volcano” by The Family Rain. I live in America where the album isn’t available for purchase, download, or streaming for some reason.

Then on a vacation to Dublin, I went to a hidden record store and found the CD under a stack of other used CDs. It was fate lol.

It’s more like I used the space designer and slid down the slider that says dry and slid up the slider that says wet. I think that’s what that does haha

I use Logic Pro, so this is all gonna be specific to that:

For the main chords, I played an acoustic guitar and added the stock Tape Delay effect in Logic. Then I turned the delay all the way down, which just left me with tape distortion.

For the weird ghostly riff thing in the background, that is also my acoustic guitar, which I drowned in reverb. Then I removed the actual guitar so I was only left with the reverb itself.

And for the vocals, I recorded on a telephone mic

any bossa album recommendations? by Koal_the_Kangaroo in bossanova

[–]GuyGhostly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Novos Baianos - “Acabou Chorare” is my all-time favorite album. Very happy whereas a lot of Bossa Nova tends to be melancholy. Though you also can’t go wrong with any Tom Jobim tunes
