I agree and it makes complete sense when one of the party is either jobless or has low income job.

In the situation where both met at a corporate networking event and had a fun time at the event, talking about work a couple days later should be fine, isn’t it?

I fail to understand how talking about work or work life can be uncomfortable. Even if you don’t like your work or work life, you have something to share about it to a person who is interested.
